Unlockable windowskins and changing battle music?

Hi! I'm pretty new at RMXP, and I was wondering if two things were possible without having to use scripting (and ideally a general idea of how to do it if so!).

The first one being unlockable windowskins, i.e. by completing a certain task/finding an item the play would be able to change their windowskin according to what they've unlocked so far. How would the unlocking/saving what they've unlocked work if it's possible?

Secondly, is it possible to have the music change in battle if there's only one character left alive? Could there be different music for different characters?

Thanks so much for taking the time!

Sure you can.

For unlockable windowskins, you can turn on a switch as the story goes on. For example, once you beat a boss and unlock a windowskin, turn "Switch: Windowskin 1" on. Then make an NPC or item that unlocks the windowskin. Use a conditional branch and check if "Switch: Windowskin 1" is on. If so, use the "Change Windowskin" event command; if not, show a message saying you have yet to unlock the windowskin.

For the second one, I'm assuming you want the music to change while you're in-battle? I don't think the "Change Battle BGM" command works in-battle, so you'll have to ask a scripter about that.

Good luck, Kiria!
