Unfinished ghillie suit.

I didn't get time to finish the entire sprite seeing how I'm on my friends computer (mine died :dead, but I was hoping that someone could critique what I have of the man in the ghillie suit.

I used Half Kaizer Male Template TYPE B as my base.

I do have a bit more of it done but this was the only piece of it I was able to finish.
And this is my first sprite even thought I used a template.
(I based the ghillie suit design and color off of the one that I made.)

a.) What is a ghillie?
b.) Don't post JPGs. Use PNGs.
c.) Despite the JPG lossiness, it still seems like there are WAY too many colors there, and possibly blending/antialiasing.

I know what a ghillie is, If I didn't know what one was I could just google it . I think that ghillie is quite good. It looks like it might need pockets though.

Typically, it is a net or cloth garment covered in loose strips of cloth or twine, sometimes even made to look like leaves and twigs. Snipers and hunters may wear a ghillie suit to blend into their surroundings when they feel it is important for them to camouflage and hide themselves from enemies or their targets.

By too many colors you mean I used too many colors right?

I'm assuming that you uploaded it to photobucket as a .bmp file. Photobucket changes these to jpegs.

that might just be the file format. to save a file as a .png, select .png from the file-type drop-down when you save your file, its right under where you type in the name. you can also sometimes just type FILENAME.png in the name spot too and it will save it as a .png

and what Venetia said, you should only be using like 5-6 colors, MAX. thats per hue, not all together...

You'd probably need to post a version of the character with the surrounding grass tiles for comparison. Just a heads up.

this, is cool IMO, i am in the australian army cadets, and these things work really well.
one of my friends was wearing one (doing contact drills) and he got stepped on.
he didn't say a thing though, just lay there.

You have provided good information about the ghillie suits. According to me, The ghillie should be made up of net and jute material. The suit has be to light in weight so that we can wear it for many hours.
