Trouble installing RMXP-Cannot find trial serial number

I'm trying to install RMXP on my laptop, but when I run the program it says, Failed to obtain a trial serial number from the nTitles server and then closes automatically before I can put in my purchase code or anything. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing, but that doesn't seem to work. How can I fix this?

This could be a few things.
You might not be connected to the internet when trying to install rmxp, or you are experiencing firewall difficulties.

If you are running Vista, make sure you are running rmxp in administrator mode.  Secondly you can right click on RPGXP>properties> choose the second tab> and select the run in windows xp (service pack 2)

if I go to shortcut-advanced-the box to run as administrator is grayed out. I also don't see anywhere to click to run as windows xp service pack 2. I am on vista.

For the XP SP2 thing, go into the windows help function, and then search compatibility. (I might have misspelled it, just copy it into word to see if I'm right) Then, open the the compatibility wizard and follow the steps all the way thru.

Thanks, Glitch! You're a lifesaver.  :scream: I was so frustrated, I was on the verge of tears... I mean, I had just spent $60 Because my new Vista version of Windows didn't like the illeagality of Postality Knights...  (Mind you, I downloaded PK beore I had a credit card...)

You're welcome. I've been contemplating making a once-and-for-all tutorial on all the ways I've found to solve this problem. (Some of which I have not posted myself)
