Alright! It's time to vote for what you guys think the best project is for April's triweekly challenge.

Voting Criteria
There's not many criteria involed with this. Just make sure to fully play through each game, not skipping any of them, and judge them fairly. It's completely up to you as to which project you enjoy the best. Give 'em all a fair run, and then vote!

We received three entries this month, which is pretty decent! Here's a basic rundown of the three entries:

The Underworld: Through the Door, by fox5 (thread here)
Nicholas is a boy who has been forced to move from his home and friends and live out in the country in an old house with his arguing parents. In his new room, he finds a secretly concealed door, through which, desperate to escape his parents, he enters. Beyond the door, however, he finds that there are a lot worse things than his life. There's his death to consider...

Marksman, by bladeking77 (thread here)
Marksman is a 2D platformer, with RPG and shooter elements. The gameplay is set in a cave that's three levels long. It's set in a fantasy world, and the world's appearance is medieval, with tools and weapons more advanced than ours.

Think Outside the Box, by Pokemaniac (thread here)
A simple puzzle game involving escaping rooms in creative and unique ways. You don't need to have RMXP to play this, and Pokemaniac would like to remind you all to install the fonts in your Fonts folder to play!

gogogogogogo!!

What, the lava filed one? With the pillars? You just need to jump across. Remember you can jump in any directions, including diagonal, and that you have to keep moving while jumping, or you'll just jump on the spot, or jump then stop halfway through. Jump with Z. That help?

Awesome Bro

I downloaded and played it for a while. I didn't have any problems with Fonts, but could you please tell me why is it that, when I quit the game, and start over again I cannot Load/Continue it. I just get some Error.
Other than that and few bugs, due to your lack of time 'cause of that cable problem, the game is pretty cool.

By the way Dadevster, why isn't there a link to my thread? I do have one. :box:

Well, I thought that, but my computer doesn't have a diagonal button, so to go diagonal I have to press two buttons, in this case down and right, and then press Z. But the problem is that RMXP, or at least my copy, stops registering buttons presses at two, so I go diagonal, but fails to register me pressing the jump button, so I just fall to my death.

@bladeking77: Hmm, not sure what's happening there. I'd have to check that on my laptop where the game is. But thanks.
@BrunoTR: Never heard that before either :P. Works find for me. What version of RMXP have you got? My laptop doesnt have diagonal buttons either, but I can easily jump across the diagonal gap.

Oh, and guys, if anyone gets to the point where you've gone into the room with the switches and false walls and are searching for the enchanting rod, Ghost tells you to go North, but he actually means go South :S. Really sorry about that, but as I had so little time, I didn't get to test it.

It's actually keyboard setups, most keyboards lock multikey presses that involve the arrow keys, if you can map the direction keys to any alphanumeric keys using external software it will work fine with the other keys.

If fox5 wishes to fix this for future reference, you should add a lock that activates when the player is moving diagonal, so if the jump key is pressed within the time between moving diagonal from tile to tile then the jumping activates, as opposed to asking if all 3 keys are down at once.

My vote goes to the box game. The music was pretty boring and the dialog was cheesy but it would make a nice flash game.

The other two games gave me trouble.
Underworld looks nice. There's only so many times I can restart a game. First there was the missing font files. This a bit of a learning curve with jumping so I died a couple times in the first room. I got this random error a couple times saying there is a missing character/diag somthing. Sometimes I got it and sometimes I didn't.

Marksman is pretty creative. I like the way the skip intro option is presented. It's not as intuitive as it looks. Took a lot of tries figuring out how to play. You'll have to read the manual and read me files. I don't get how damage is registered cause I was getting hit over and over even though the slime was walking away from me.
Oh and theres a bug in the beginning where you fall through the ground when the guy jumps down that first ledge.

All very cool, but Underworld had my vote.

I'd also like to say that I didn't participate this month being new to the forums and I had some stuff in real life, but I am definitely participating in TWC#2! I hope more of you guys will as well.

If I could make a suggestion... announce the next tri-weekly challenge topic @ the time of the voting of the previous! :)

It'd give us more time to work:)

But then it wouldn't be triweekly ;-;

Plus some people need some time to take a break if they want to compete twice in a row.

Like me :) Otherwise I'm never going to catch up with making my own main game or my school work.

EDIT: Oh, also, when is the closing date for voting?

bladeking77

Awesome Bro

Well, I'm going to skip this one and maybe I'll make one for the June month, since I need a lot of time to work on my other project, and it is very tiring to work about 6 hours a day each month.
As for the closing date I think that this is it:
"Poll runs till Sat May 01, 2010 3:29 am"
