Tribes

I thought I'd write something that I've never really done before. This song consists mainly of 2 movements. The guitar is played and recorded by me, as well as some percussion. If you ask me, this is probably one of my best compositions.

This is quite good, Serenade! I was really groovin'(is this the seventies?) to this for a good few minutes. The only thing about this composition is that the pauses in between the music at the beginning might have been a little long. I thought that quicktime had trouble playing it for some reason! :D But, hey, I'm no music expert, so what do I know.

Oh wow Serenade this is simply amazing. I love the part in the begining... I just get this picture of like a samurai fight in my head and then later it turns tribal. I love the string instriments you put in the middle of the song. The second half seemed like an entirly differnt song though so maybe break it up even if it's sequencally needed for the next scene or whatever you are doing this for. But both parts are very good. The second half is so beautiful and serene. I really like this one a lot.

To maybe give you a little push for further music I'm noticing that you tend to be very jumpy in your sounds in beat. Not that they don't flow well into eachother but your songs are rarely a single type of beat/sound. I think I've said this to you before but I think you need to work on simplicity a bit more. Expand the ideas you have a bit further. Like the begining of this song could be carried out a lot more and have a song just comprised of that pausing drum. You certainly don't have repeitition problems and can come up with execlent sequences that fit well but maybe try focusing on just a few differnt sounds to maybe make your songs more consistant. Obviously for a movie or what not you can't always do this but if you're just making a single song try playing with that.

This is by far the best thing you've written...fucking...amazing... Have my babies.

Ok, I really just don't know what to say man. This is just too good. I'm at a lost of words...the guitar sequence is probably what stood out the most to me. You did an excellent job with it. 10s across the board man.

Heh, thanks guys. I know what you mean about the whole simplicity aspect, but I also think it might be because you're imagining it as an in-game piece. If it were for a game, I'd totally agree with you though. You'll see in my upcoming game :p.

Red or Dead Army (the link said red, the download said dead) is alright.

Broken Armor is also good, but maybe i'm just being picky- i don't see how a TR-808 drum kit fits with a choir and orchestra? You cant distinguish whether its supposed to sound epic, ambient, or what.

But don't get me wrong, compared to my music and production (that is one thing I'm jealous of) this is off the charts.
