I've just spent the better part of the day making a study on various trees, since I'm trying to find a method of painting them quickly, but without sacrificing too much detail and depth.
I'm about to begin hand-painting a hugemongous amount of environments for my game so that it has a really unique aesthetic flair, and trees are currently one of my stumbling blocks. I'd really appreciate any and all feedback for the enclosed image!
My current thoughts are: Lack of depth with the Willow tree (right); bark not detailed enough on the Oak (center); and possibly deeper shadows on the Ash (left) branches under the leaf cover. Possibly.
