Hello everybody! I saw some really cool titles, which were made by other people, here and because the people here seem to have an eye for the beautiful (does this phrase even exist?? :-/ ), I wanted to post my first title that I made for my game here to recieve some criticism/comments on what I did...
I agree, it looks good, but if you sharpened up the text it would help with consistency. Or you could go the opposite way and "fray up" the other designs to help fill in the background. Just a suggestion.
Now that I look at it again, I get the impression that you were trying to make the text stand out. I think it would stand out better if the text was solid and the background frayed.
It all boils down to what you like, and what fit's your game design. The screen looks fine and it's readable. These are just suggestions. Take 'em or leave 'em.
I like the color, but the text is hard to read...
and the designs have white pixels here and there around it...
2 cures for that would be to either blur the whole thing a little, to make the pixels blur into the rest (not reccomemded) or to add a border around them useing the "stroke" tool (if you are useing photoshop ) and add a white border around the designs (like 3 or 4 px wide)
As Kraft mentioned, the main issue is definately the edgy white flcikers around the shapes... it destroys the whole image... I don't know where u got those shapes from inthe first place, but it's a vital lesson to make sure they are cut out neatly before use.
The only other thing I'd mention... which is what I pull up with many titles I see is relevance... Does this image have anything to do with your game, what do these shapes represent?
Kind of quoting Calibre, your title needs to reflect part of your game. As for the background color, find a nice brush you can add to make the background more interesting,
Thank you everybody! I really appreciate what you said.
And you're right with the white pixels! I'm going to change this...
But I'm keeping the font 'cause it appears quite often in the game but despite that I will take your advices and I'll probably redo it, so that it represents some part of the game!
EDIT: Ok! I redid everything it's now something totally different, but it represents the game!
I made it with a title script.
It moves through the trees and the leafs fall down and little lights move around and stuff and the you see the elven girl(main char).
And again! What do you think??

i would personally put the sub title to a lighter colour with the glow looks more appealing to the eye
also looks a little odd with the white outline around the character, if its a moon glow ideally it needs to be softer
ooh and if you can try to put the floating leaves behind the text, that way wont interfere with reading it
yeah but not alot darker just so it blends better onto the character, like just lower the opacity and blend it if you get me
just a lighter colour lol
i personally find that if its an off white and then has a pale glow it looks good
so if ya keep the glow the same but just have a sort of pale green with a low saturation lol so its a bit lighter thna the glow itself
