Title screen

I'm making a title screen for my game "Dryads" and it turned out like this:

Someone told me that the cartoon graphic in the bottom right hand corner of out of place.
Is it?
Or is it not?
Comments?

First, get rid of that background, I've seen it too many times (It was preused with a script and now everyone who uses the script thinks it's cool to use the graphic too) and it look horrid, the font you've chosen looks SO out of place, use a more natural one, I don't like the white behind the logo, and yes you're right, those cartoon... things, look REALLY out of place down there, and don't fit in at all.

It looks really sloppy. The white behind the logo looks very out of place like jbrist said, and you're kind of abusing the outer glow on the words there, dontcha think?

you have to think about what kind of tone you're trying to convey with your title screen. pick your backgrounds wisely, or don't even have one at all if you're aiming for simplicity. but throwing the forest background from MOG's script in there is lazy.

I'm not sure how I'm going to make it when one of the options is selected any ideas?

See, now in my opinion, that looks MUCH better, it isn't overcrowded, and everything fits.

Hmm, to show that an option is selected...

I think if you use the leaf from the D on Dryads as a cursor, that would show to the left of the chosen option?

Or maybe you could just make the text change colour, or even just underline it?

Looking really good, although I think the selector should use the same colour as the Dryads logo, it looks a little too dark at the moment, do a quick edit and see how it'd look with the same colour, personally I think it'd look better, but it's your call here.

Ok, here it is, I'd say it's better, but when you select "Exit" it looks a bit flawed, wait for an edit.

Hmm, I see what you mean...

I guess you'll just have to stick with the first one then, I mean, the second does look better, but meh, if it can't be helped, the first still looks good anyways.
