Time bomb

Ok on my rpg you start in a village and as soon as the game starts a time bomb is set off so after a while the village blows up lol. The event is on one map but that means it is only triggered on that map. How do I make it so that the player can walk around and interact with things on different maps before it blows, thanks. P.S. I have tried parralel process but it only works on the map with the event on it.
