Thousand Fish Orchestra

... Interesting.

By what I've seen of your artwork, you're a very creative person, and it seems to show in this project. I hope to see more, by the way are you still working on "The Day the Sun Didn't Rise"?

I love this idea so much, I want to cry  ...

Ah-ahem...um...excuse me, I don't know what seemed to get a hold of me. I believe this is one the most original and inventive games I've seen in a long while. I just wish I had that much creativity...*sigh*...that's life, I suppose.

Keep it up!

Hahaha, thanks.

I've being thinking a lot about tilesets lately, I was considering using panoramas/"pre-rendered" backgrounds (I tend to work better when not restricted to a grid or whatever).

What do you guys think?

what the fuck?

what happened to the day the sun didnt rise? :p
Did nobody read my old thread? Or, for that matter, this thread? I already answered that question!

I'm working on some visuals of the characters/tribes as we speak, I'll post them soon.

This is nice! From your title, I expect this game will be packed up with a lot of music!
How about the gameplay? Yea, I also think that ABS system would fit this game ;)

Speaking of which, have you tried the Ocarina script? As your theme is music, maybe you should check it here: http://www.rmxp.org/forums/index.php?topic=39431.0
Excellent! Thank you, I really needed a script like this.

So, gameplay (could contain very minor spoilers I guess)? Well evidently it will involve music. Being a 9 year old you don't have much physical ability, but you DO have musical ability. The idea is that you blast your foes into a daze while your companion (who joins you early on in the game) takes them down. I want it so that your friend trails behind you while you are walking but takes on a mind of his own when you encounter an enemy, I don't want you to be able to control him. I guess some mixture of the summoning ABS and squad based ABS? I don't know, but it will definitely be ABS!
You'll also be able to attain ~*~musical spells~*~ in addition to the general eardrum-bursting attack. Music will also be used out of battle.

As my alternative to leveling, I want the characters to physically grow as they progress (not after X number of battles, but as the story progresses, because there will only be a select number of battles that relate to the story; no grinding or random encounters). Adiel's horns get bigger and your friend grows at an unusually fast rate, due some crazy hoodoo.

I'll probably include adventure-game-like puzzles (there will be no monkey-wrenches or anything), studying books and the environment for clues because I want there to be a REASON for you to explore everything in the game. Of course there will be things there purely for shits and giggles, too.

So those are my ideas, I just hope everything goes to plan!

I think the ground needs some texture no matter how subtle It may be. Also that bush might look better If It had a small branch attaching It to the ground. Right now they look a little pasted on.

But other than that It looks great, very unique style!

Thanks! Yeah, I forgot to mention the ground is unfinished. I'll try to do something with the bushes.

Looks good, again another unique idea!

I just realized that I never commented on the gameplay.

First off I love the Idea of incorporating music into the battle system. This probably appeals to me so much because music Is huge to me. I think It would add alot to the battle If you had to press some kind of button combination in order to play your tune.

I'm curious how do you plan on acquiring all the sound effects required for this type of system?

I'll probably try to find some (realistic, not synth) plugins for Fruity Loops and whip them up myself, though I'm kind of shit so I may end up trying to find an actual musician eventually.

I'm not sure if the "button combination" thing was a suggestion or just a comment, but yeah, that's the plan.

Glad you like it. :)

Well, since I love your style so much, if you ever need a musician, just drop me a PM. :)

That artwork is absolutely awesome though. I'd love to see this topic eventually in the completed games and demos forum. My eye is going to be on this project for sure.
