It's that time again kids. That time where we do the browsing so you don't have to. So light a cigarette, eat some eggs, and enjoy this installment of This week on RMXP.org.
Feedback
I know a feedback topic in This Week in RMXP.org. Yes for once there is a productive feedback topic that is thoughtful and proactive. Which is surprising given that it was started by missingno. Posting Standards Discussion was started in reaction to some complaints and poor posting behaviors present in our the project and analysis areas of our boards. Its a good read if you want to get a better idea of what we staff want to see from users providing and receiving criticism. Be sure to take a gander and make this a good community.
Project Discussion
Thorns is a project by WeAreSuperhero that uses RM2K3 chipsets in RMXP to a generally pleasing affect so far. WeAreSuperhero seems very receptive to thoughtful criticism and would welcome your feedback in this his latest endeavor.
The Dangerous Game by Def Row is a concept under development of an adaptation of Richard Connell's short story, The Most Dangerous Game. For those unfamiliar with the classic it is a story about an American who falls off near an island the natives believe emanates tangible evil. On the island he meets a former Russian General who likes to hunt people to relieve his boredom. They then have tea and the Brit is loosed into the wild to fend for himself against the General. Def Row's adaptation is pretty similiar and I'm sure he would welcome your feedback.
Sammael is a concept in development by Faggot. It is one of those well developed concept threads that seems intimidating to people because of its depth and time commitment to read all of it. Yet before it falls through the cracks you can rescue it and give Unty some help by just focusing on one section and sharing your thoughts.
RM Discussion
It's that time of the month! No its not time for our periods! It time to sign up for this months Project Criticism Partnership. Last month's PCP pairs were very successful and we hope to continue this valuable program until it becomes a .org tradition. This is a great way to get feedback and to make valuable connections with other developers.
Venetia has made, Pay Attention to Graphic Design Please *flutters eyelashes*, to offer some of her professional knowledge on graphical design to help members make better choices for their games. For some reason this thread was derailed by some controversy for reasons that simply mystify me. I think some people got up on the wrong side of the bed or simply love their font choices more than normal people. Anyway its a good discussion sans the off topic noise.
300 word game reviews! Every Saturday by Untra! is a little review project by Faggot where he plays a game for fifteen minutes and writes a three hundred word review on his impression. I think its an interesting way to give the reader the game's first impression which is important to hook players in.
Resource Analysis
Dechibifying the RTP template! is a little spriting endeavor by our own Perihelion. Getting rid of the pudgy cartoony features of rtp is a noble endeavor that all of you can help her achieve. Related to this topic is a template Perihelion created for chrono trigger sized sprites: Critique this template, please. (Updated!). Like any valued member of RMXP.org Perihelion wants good feedback to become a better game maker and artist. Serve some up for her.
NFG
Our own resident moogle and anime expert has asked the essential question of all beings, What Is The Best Anime You HAve Ever Played..? Join in on our panel discussion.
Video Games
Spores almost here! is a pretty self explanatory topic. The long awaited evolution monster sim thing is due for its US release tomorrow.
In pffffffff fall/winter lineup why must you be so great ;-; Luminier salivates over all the toys he hopes to get by christmas. Hope you've been a good boy.
Art and Graphics
I don't think Wumpi's gallery, Butts, has been included before so here it is. She has recently made some updates and added some new pieces, so enjoy if you haven't already.
Well that's everything for this week. Tune in next time on the same Bat channel at the same Bat time.
