Yikes! This place gives me the creeps! Look at it! Well, I better get in and get out as soon as I can. I don’t want to have to be in this place a second longer than I have to.
*gulp*
There’s a new forum coming soon! The Beginner’s Lounge will be a forum for, well, beginners, who want to learn about game development and want to share their first project. Nothing s-scary about that. The new forum will help guide beginners through the game making process. Remember that there will be no forum re-sorting, and that the forum will be only for those who seriously want to learn about game development.
Ack! D-did you hear that? I thought I heard footsteps or something. Must’ve just been me.
RATED-RKOFRANKLIN made a thread asking you what you think the greatest RPG Maker games of all time are. mawk seems to think Yume Nikki is the best one, but personally, that game scared me to death. I like games that are bright and have cute, cuddly animals and stuff like that. You know, ones that don’t give you nightmares.
Kain Nobel wants to know what passive effects and abilities in a game are neat. What are you waiting for? Go tell him! Just don’t go too fast, or you may trip and hurt yourself, and leave yourself exposed to whatever horrible creatures are waiting to feed upon your flesh...Goodness, I’m s-scaring myself!
Although these threads weren’t technically part of this week they’re been overlooked and deserve more comments. King Kadelfek posted DreaMaker, an extremely helpful tool for RPG Maker, in December, but despite that’s it doesn’t change that it’s one of the best RPG Maker tools out there. And MrBen is currently working on a 2.5D RPG engine that looks pretty solid, so take a look and share your thoughts.
I...I’m definitely not alone. I feel like I’m b-being watched. C-come on! I gotta hold it together! Eh heh...
Speaking of, Perihelion made some pixel tilesets as well, inspired by the graphics from Star Ocean. That game freaked me out a lot but her pixels are top-notch so take a look and give her your input. She won’t bite, unless you ask. Oh man, I’m really scaring myself here!
Love wrote a short story based on a dream she had. Literary Analysis doesn’t get much activity so go post in her thread and check it out. I would read it but I’d probably remember my ex-girlfriend, who’s freakier than anything I know of.
Ah, love. So sweet, so gentle, so-AUGH! There!! In the corner! Something moved! It-it-it was my shadow. Oh. M-man, for a second there I thought I was a goner for sure. Eh heh. Moving on.
archerRin wants some critique on a poem and a story prologue he wrote for his game. I-it’s a bit scary, b-but not too bad. Not bad at all. Nope. Anyway, read it, comment-you know the drill.
Piracy? P-pirates?? Those guys are t-terrifying! Don’t let them get me!! But that’s not the kind of piracy Wyatt wants to talk about-he’s talking about the “program stealing” one. It’s a highly debatable subject so share your thoughts on the matter. But be reasonable-it is The Symposium, after all. Don’t forget about the Symposium’s contest, either!
Woah. Woah. Something just breathed on the back of my neck, I swear. I’m tripping out here. I only have a bit more to go now, though. Almost done. Breathe. *shivers*
Wyatt’s on to something guys. I know it. Government conspiracy? Perhaps. Message from beyond? Maybe. Try decoding the secret message and see if you can solve the enigma that’s evidently clouding our minds with its mystery...ness. Mysteries are freaky. Like when they find dead bodies and stuff. D-dead bodies?? Oh dear! D:
And guess what everybody? HBGames.org hit 500,000 unique posts over the course of the week! A whopping half a million! Good job everybody! (Despite 3% being Venetia’s posts!) Keep up that post count and we'll soon be on our way to a gargantuan one m-m-million!!
Alright, I’m almost outta here. Just g-gotta get out now. W-without getting killed. Or h-h-horribly maimed. Oh geez.
W-wait. What’s that? It-a ghost! Omigoshomigosh I’m going to die! Help! SOMEBODY HELP!! HEL-
