The use of a matrix

Hey guys, it's been awhile!

Anyways, I was curious if there is a way to use a matrix with Ruby (RGSS). Would it basically be the same as an array? The reason I ask is that I'm working on different algorithims and I want to use matrices for them. So would I be able to use a matrix in anyway? (specifically an augmented matrix).

You can have an array of arrays, i.e.

@array = [ [0,1,2,3], [0,1,2,3], [0,1,2,3], [0,1,2,3] ]

Which would essentially give you a 4x4 grid.
