ThePirateBay was sold, today, to a Swedish tech company.

Apparently, they will now move to "legal" file sharing, hence no more movies before release and that kind of (sweet) stuff.

TPB is dead; long live isoHunt (also whoever steps in after but for now yeah isohunt)

The torrents aren't actually gone, TPB is basically just like a search engine for 'em. They're still out there, just use a different website.

Besides, legally endorsing filesharing from a company is a big step up in informational freedom. It'd put such software under less harsh criticism and open up such methods for actual corporate use, which could lead to evolutions in the way information and software is spread to a level much higher than our current one. I'm all for it, it's a step in the right direction.
