The Marzipan Character Template (C&C wanted)

My first template attempt... There's a lot I need to change but im not sure what...

Any comments, critisism, corrections welcome.

Honestly, I'm not a spriter or anything, But your shading is lacking. It's pillow-shaded is it not? It certainly looks that way.
Try another shading style. :-/
I like the face though. Keep it up. ^_^

Yeah im noob at sprite shading... its more the shape im worried about though lol i dont know how to correct the down / up positions...

the hands and the walking animation are good for female, but not for a male sprite, and the eye is really great

Oh yeah, i just noticed something,
You should probably broaden the shoulders too.

on the down frame it looks like it is just positioning its feet like an L..and the hands are weird looking

You should make it smaller and add some more shading.

Most video game characters have big heads. It makes it easier for players to see the character expressing emotions.

So:

Broaden the shoulders.
Make the feet on the down animation more forward facing.
Correct the shading.

Anything else while Im at it?
