I've been holding out on an announcement until we knew it was fully working, and it seems to be.

The Arcade!

The arcade is a way to play games which our members have created within the web browser. It is not intended to shun downloadable games (and something similarly awesome is in the pipeline for those too); it is a way for games which are playable from a browser to be... played.

Game Selection

There are two main types of game available - Flash and HTML5. Flash games will require a Flash player to be installed; HTML5 games will require a compatible browser.

Games are sorted into a variety of categories and clicking these shows only those games.

Comments

Comments are by default open on games and work like forum posts (in fact... they are forum posts!) As such they are subject to the normal forum rules (including don't be a dick).

Game creators are allowed to request their game is comment locked.

Additional Functionality

Due to how the system was made (which you could probably tell if you inspected it) there is a lot of functionality available to us which hasn't been fully utilised.

Members have already found they can create polls on their games

There is also the option for us to frame special games at the head of the list, for a game of the month kind of thing.

Game owners are able to edit their games to remove them or to add further content using standard forum bbcode (such as lists of credits, instructions, a text introduction, etc).

Finally full forum moderation and reporting is available to us.

I agree, you need to put it somewhere a little more noticeable, I mean, the top bar is fine, but add it somewhere else, not sure where though, lol

I dunno if it's just me, but in Firefox, the games in the arcade don't load audio. It still works fine in Chrome, though. I find this odd, because if they were hosted on Dropbox or most other servers I've seen, it worked fine regardless.

I've heard about a lot of problems with Firefox properly streaming audio from C2 games. I'm not positive that the problem is necessarily on our end.

Well, up until a few weeks ago, all versions of Firefox refused to loop audio from construct. However, during the contest, the audio from all the games worked for me in Firefox, despite it being hosted on servers not optimized for streaming (i.e. Dropbox). So I'm not sure what the difference is.

It's indeed not playing any audio for me either. I've been exclusively using Firefox for all this time and never experienced any problems (however I might've played a game or two where there was audio, however I didn't notice it because I thought it was not included yet), but testing the Music Fighter just now (simply because it seems to be the game of choice for a sound test), it gave me muteness. Just as input.

I think the Firefox bug might be with the arcade. I just tested my game with Firefox, and I have sound on my server but not on the arcade for some reason.
