The future of Star Fox.

I downloaded Star Fox 64 from the Wii's Virtual Console a week ago and have played the heck out of it ever since. I'd never actually gotten the opportunity to play it back when it first came out (although I doubt I'd really want to as a five year old-that game is downright terrifying) It's a fantastic game as I'm sure many of you already know and definitely one of the Nintendo 64's best games. I'd never really cared for the series before but I find myself wanting to play more.

SF64 is the only Star Fox game I've played and I've only seen videos of the other ones like Command, Adventures and Assault. I've heard that SF64 is the best of the series and the other ones range from good to mediocre.

To date, there have been five Star Fox games released for Nintendo consoles, the most recent being Star Fox Command for the DS in 2006. Since the launch of the Wii, many fans have been wanting a Star Fox Wii. You can easily see it happening, and it's not hard to envision some really inventive gameplay using the Wii's motion-sensing technology.

But will a Star Fox for the Wii ever happen? Or has the series run its course? I really hope that's not the case but it seems SF64 is the only one of the series that has really stuck out as outstanding, the rest being more easily forgettable.

It's hard to tell what Nintendo is planning. On one hand, it seems Shigeru Miyamoto might want to try it out. But on the other hand, it doesn't look like Star Fox's original creator really wants to make one. (furries and anthropomorphic animals are TWO DIFFERENT THINGS DAMMIT)

Will the series continue and live on? Or is Star Fox 64 the only true dog-fighting Star Fox game we're gonna get?
