The "azn" Thread

We know there are extensive Asian communities for RMXP around, however most of these are either Chinese or Japanese, and whether people would believe it or not, not all Asians can read/write either languages so I assume those people that can't would find themselves here. I'd like to find out just how many of them are here, being one myself as I've often thought of opening up a tiny nook in the intarwebz dedicated to a more 'local' community for users in the region. Thing is, aside from hima and myself, I don't really know anyone else in the area, so I'm not sure how it would work out.

So, how large is the Asian population here on .org, and how're you holding up here in our fine community?

Well, I'm Asian-ish.
Long story, really, but the short of it is that I consider myself part Indonesian. Sure, I'm not ethnically Indonesian, but in pretty much all other respects, I am.
Don't know if that counts or not.

That works, I guess. My personal interest lies in people living in the region. You could say I'm fascinated in the matter- despite how this is an online community, differences in culture still show as I've noticed in several discussions and on IRC. Or it could be just me. I'm posting here to see if anyone feels the same, or even if it's actually even relevant.

I don't know. I just thought that maybe forming a small group of people living closer by would be interesting, or even open up possibilities for team projects. And people on IRC in the same timezone so there's actually activity there for my time that's not in the unholy hours of the night.

I don't see how forming an ethnic group is going to provide anything to anyone, unless you're a hardcore follower of certain cultural norms and laws, in which case you'd probably speak the native language. Thus, you'd simply be restraining your productivity and creativity by closing yourself to us and surrounding yourself with your brethren.

Plus, I don't want to have to sit in the back of the bus

I'd be interested in speaking to people from my region/area too.

We used to - or rather the last set of mods used to close these threads.  I actually like these threads because you get to open up communication between members and therefore possibly cause some li'l internet bonds and such in rare cases.
I benefit if those people are talented and release a good game to the community.

I'm technically not Asian, I couldn't get away with putting that down on an ethnic check on the government listings.  I don't live in any area round it. I love Chinese food though.  But I am part Mongolian :x

Isn't it wierd how these threads cause sudden mixed races within members? I'm not pointing the finger at anyone, but they really do cause people to have a sudden half to their background.

My great Grandfather (Caucasian) married My Great Grandmother (Mixed Spanish/Cambodian) who had my Grandfather ( Mulatto) who married My grandmother (Native Barbadian) who had my Dad (Native Barbadian) who had me (US Virgin Islander) who's yet to have any children (good thing I think?)

So, I have some Asian in my family ... Let's not start on my mothers side ...
