Text on panels/board message

Hi

I just started working on my game a bit more, still learning so I might come back here and ask some questions since I'm everything but good at prog-scripting ;) using VX btw...

I'm trying to make an event when the user click (press action button) on a panel, map, or a message on walls. Can't seem to make it work.

Thanks for the help.

A.

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking. What it sounds like you are trying to do is create an event that generates a message box of text. But I think that is almost too simple to be the problem. In any case create an event set it's trigger to "Action Button" add an event command. On the very first page in the Message group box is "Show Text...". Select that and enter the message you want to see when you activate the event.

I assume that isn't your problem so be more descriptive in what you are trying to do.

Good luck with it Ashtoreth! :thumb:

When I do it as a speech (NPC) it works fine

but when dealing with a object (in this case, a panel) it just does nothing when testing, but everything seems fine , which is why I was wondering ^^ I'm not in a rush anyway, just annoying to surf around, i'm more of an artist than anything hehe (but im actually looking to learn )

Is there any way you would be willing to create a screen shot of the event? It might be something simple. I've never heard of an error like this before.

I'm not all that familiar with eventing in VX but try changing the Priority of the event to "Same as Characters". You might also want to check "Direction Fix" and uncheck "Walking Anim." within Options.

Good luck with it Ashtoreth! :thumb:
