testin out my wacom

Ahh your lines are always so smooth and neat. I'm very jealous. But glad to see you got the new tablet! Its it like a bamboo or clintiq [[sp?]] You have such a definitive style. Its purely western. My only real gripe would be that heavy line in the upper part of her hair. [[It'd be on her left side]] I believe it goes thin to quick. But other than that yes this is nice. Why do you not color them though?

I got the Intuos3 6x8 :D

I totally want to color stuff but I always hate doing that. I always outline with the intent of coloring (otherwise I'd be doing black shading, and things like her neck or arms would be more defined), but then when it gets down to it I lose interest :/

IDK why I hate doing it so much :(

I wish I had the talent to be able to draw things like this. :( My only complaints are minor; her right collarbone (is that it under the hair?) seems to be going off at too steep an angle, and while the variation in line weight looks great in most places, a couple thick places seem like they don't belong. Mainly the thick straight line on top of her hair, and maybe the shoulder is a little thick too? I dunno, I had to look really hard to find anything bad to say about this. It's fabulously well done. The eyes are arresting, and I love her slightly sneering expression, which is very appropriate for the scene. Good job!

The comments about the line weights make sense! I wasnt thinking much about light direction when laying down lines (which is amateurish!! bad ven ). Mostly I was just playing with the pressure levels :3
oh and the collarbone, yes i see what you mean, didnt notice :D

Thanki Peri

yeah, I've heard that drawing with a tablet is pretty strange compared to pen and paper, too. might be because what you're drawing doesn't appear on the pad itself but on a screen somewhere, but I'm sure it's different for different people.

the line on her wrist looks a little strange, but I  love the level of detail here, especially on the hands. very nice work.

At first its a little odd. At least for me it was. I couldn't get used to not looking down while drawing but I mean after a few test runs you get the hang of it. And the transition doesn't really take that much time either. Plus it seems to make you more confident with lines on regular paper [[as I've seemed to notice]] but like you said Miek it might be different for some people. I enjoy tablets, partially because you can use undo and not really have to worry about wrinkling up paper and keeping it safe. Things like that. But the only problem is mine is so freaking huge just to have such a small working area.

Since I've started working on tablets my chara art has improved significantly. And mostly because of using undo! When you're inking, you can't say whoops, there is no whoops :(

Plus I fuck up proportions sometimes. Like in this pic, I was zoomed in too close and accidentally made her arms too short. It was nice to just erase them quickly and try again.

whats nice is that its not just drawing, its drawing + photoshop merged into one.
Its not just undo, its filters and smooth and resize and reproportioning. Its so easy and intuitive.
It certainly looks like you had fun with the weight :P
Sometimes, its just fun to play without having to worry about everything.

The right eye seems to be a bit more higher than the left one... and the index finger from the left hand could use a bit more foreshortening

With those details out of the way...the drawing is awsome, your style is very dynamic and 3d. This is exactly how I whould like to draw  :)
