Anyone here strive for some measure of food self sufficiency?
If you do, how do you do it?
Do you feel it's important to strive for self reliance with food?
Personally, I grow a garden in the warm months. Winters kind of a write off for me. I also keep egg laying chickens as well as raise meat chickens every year. This upcoming year we're adding a few turkeys and maybe some duck to he mix.
I only have half an acre of land, so I can't do a whole lot as far as livestock is concerned, but damn if fresh garden veggies aren't the shit.
I also like to do the "from" scratch thing, bake all my own breads and junk. Yum.
