Tempted to buy a Wii - What games should I look out for?

Jason

Awesome Bro

Quick note: I used to own a Wii when it first came out, big mistake to be honest since there were no good games out for it at the time and I sold it.

So yesterday when I was in town, I saw in Gamestation they were selling used consoles for pretty cheap, for example, a 60GB B/C PS3 + Homefront for only £140, which is a steal since Homefront is £40 anyway, lol.

Then I came across a Wii which was going for £60 (Well there were 3 of 'em), which is REALLY cheap since they're £150 new anyway, so 2.5x cheaper, although I'm a little skeptical about the condition of it (Couldn't see the console itself, it was boxed) so the next time I pop in I'm going to check the condition of it first (Ask them to bring it out etc.)

I know there's quite a few games out right now that I'd love to play all for the Wii, some examples being Monster Hunter Tri, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Mad World and Epic Mickey, and obviously there's more which I'd love to play, and those coming out in the future too (Xenoblade Chronicles is being released in EU for example)

Are there any games I should be looking out for that I might be interested in? Any genre is accepted as long as it isn't a sports or party game, don't really like 'em to be fair.

Donkey Kong Country Returns, Metroid: Other M (as long as you don't mind a short game that butchers an IP) and Twilight Princess are three of my favorite Wii Titles

Oh and Super Mario Galaxy and its expansion pack Super Mario Galaxy 2

I like the wii mainly because I find a lot of the games fun and I am not into that whole 1st person shooter trend

Games:

Monster Hunter Tri- Its really hard and there is a lot of grinding and stuff like that but its still a fun game

super Smash Brawl- Its fun too but its one of those games where if you are looking to play online it really isn't worth it. Online lags and it takes like 5-10 minutes to join a game.

Mad World- Ive never played it but it looked neat

Epic Mickey- Ive never played it either

______________

super Mario Galaxy 1&2- These are really fun games, esp if you like Mario games. These are two really really good games.

deBlob - its not the best game ive played but its really neat concept.

Mario Kart - I think this is the best online wii game i have played. If you like kart racing then its a good pickup.

Zelda Twilight Princess - its a zelda game and its fun.

Little King's Story - It plays a lot like pikmin but its a really cute and fun game. Its also pretty original.

Super Paper Mario - Its a new take on a paper mario game. Its like a platforming strategy game. I would rent it because the game is shorter but its a pretty cool game.

Metroid Prime Trilogy - Its 3 really long, really good games in one. Id say that each of the games is around 20-40 hours.

Also did you ever have a gamecube because there are a bunch of games you might want to pick up for that as well.

IIRC Metroid Prime Trilogy is out of print? Although Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is a very good game I forgot to mention.

Edit Can't find info of whether they are OOP or not but they retail at over $120

I've actually played Super Mario Galaxy, Super Paper Mario and de Blob (I used to have de Blob and I've played SMG and SPM at my mates, got like 7X of the stars on SMG and finished SPM completely)

And yeah I've got a Gamecube, only a handful of games for it though, there just wasn't much that interested me past Windwaker and Starfox Adventures to be honest with you...

Da Blob, DKC:R, and BRAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWL

smg is ok imo, i never understood why so many people jizzed all over it.

Technically, all three games in the trilogy have been dropped from print and replaced with a single purchase copy that has all three games for the Wii. The worst part is that it has no ability to import your previous save files, even for the third one, that was on the Wii already.

I had thought that the Trilogy package was a limited time offer thing, but apparently I was mistaken. I own all three but would consider buying the Trilogy if it weren't over $100 used, thats almost full price for all three games. Little bit ridiculous.

monster hunter, any resident evil series  ,fragile dreams (action horror, although not very scary for me  )
i own wii but lately dont have time to play or check if theres a new game out :blank:

Well I can get Metroid Prime Trilogy for £30 ($45) Used (Apparently it's like new, only been played once...) or £40 ($60) New, so it's either not out of print yet, or just not really hard to find at all, lol. These prices are from Amazon, I could get it cheaper elsewhere (I use Gamestracker to look for bargains :D) but I can't be bothered signing up to other websites haha. I can get Super Smash Bros. Brawl for only £8 ($12) New, Monster Hunter Tri for £20 ($30) New, and Twilight Princess for £12 ($18) New. These prices are pretty cheap to be honest, lol... I might have to order them right now, even if I don't get a Wii yet.

I think I'll get these four games (Well I guess technically it's six, since MPT is three games) for sure. Based on these four games, are there any games that are similar that I might enjoy? I mean, like I said I'll take a random shot in the dark and try any game as long as it isn't a sports or party game.

SMG 1 & 2, motherfucking masterpieces
Twilight Princess
No More Heroes 1 & 2 (1 is a bit better but 2 has its advantages too so)
Metroid Prime Trilogy
Okami, if you haven't got it already
Madworld you already got it
Resident Evil 4 if you don't own it for any other console
Mario Kart, it's OKAY but there are better wii games, they destroyed it with the items
Xenoblade is coming to europe, get that one too they say it's one of the best JRPGs of this generation or something and even I as a post-snes JRPG hater am going to get it!

This list has been the best so far actually and I think I might have to pick everything up off it except Resident Evil 4 since I already own it, as well as Madworld since I also sort of own it but not really yet until it comes, lol. I'm also not sure if I want to get No More Heroes yet, since it's being released on PS3 sometime and I hear it's having added stuff.
