Stress: Advice?

Lately I've been pretty stressed out for several reasons.

One reason: Work- Normally I enjoy work, but lately its been a pain. We have another person working with us, and he's....less than competent. I've tried explaining what he's doing wrong, but he blows up and goes off on how i'm not respecting him. Technically, he's employed through a program for people who are either:
A-have a learning disablity or:
B-Can't hold a normal job.

Supposedly, he has some sort of learning disablity. I personally think he's just dang lazy (and i've been working with him for 3 months). While he's not doing NEARLY the amount of work he's supposed to, he is doing just enough so he doesn't get fired. :-/ And our boss is aware of this, but he can't fire him because of the Program he's working through.

Second reason: College. I'm going to be blunt- I'm not rich. Normally, I might not be able to afford to go to college. However, I got good grades in High School, and was able to get an Academic Scholarship into college, which pays for (roughly) 1/3 of my tution. Thing is, I have to keep my grades above a 3.0 GPA every semster or the scholarship is dropped....and i'm screwed out of college. While college hasn't started yet, this IS something I'm worried about....

Third: Computer. A few months ago I had to reformat after something (no idea) happened to my laptop. The reformat seems to have fixed it, but the possiblity of something similar happening again (possibly something I can't fix/afford to fix) has me a bit worried. I've taken steps to avoid viruses/problems that might have cause the crash before, but the antivirus/antispyware programs I have are...well...not the best at times. And I can't afford to replace em either....*sigh*

Well, anyone have any suggestions as to what to do? I'd appreciate it

Advice on reason number one... stop letting it bother you. There's really nothing you can do, so don't worry about it. As long as he's not pissing in your coffee or something, just let him do his thing while you do yours.

Advice on reason number two... don't worry about grades until you're in a position to actually do something about them. Why worry about them when you haven't even started? You can worry about your scholastic performance once you actually start. Even then, rather than worrying just do the best you can... that's all you can do. Oh, and keep track of your performance in your classes and the withdraw deadlines... if you think you're going to do poorly no matter how hard you try, withdraw to preserve your GPA.

Advice on reason three... you're as protected as you can afford. Just don't take risks with the computer and don't worry about it.

In summation... try not to worry about things you can't control. Just deal with them as they occur.

First, not listen to the posts which violent measures to take care of your problems.

First reason, little you can do, I dunno if you have to work together with him, but just try to avoid the guy. As your boss is the one who can take care of his problem and not you. But as mentioned, he can't fire him, and that makes it difficult. But try not to pay much attention to this guy, preferable as little as possible.

Second, I'm going to be rather blunt about this, I never ever done anything for my school, and passed every year half-sleeping through classes. Though this'll have to change in college, I'm affraid I can't really give you a lot of good advice on this. Other than the basic of course; studdy hard and think positive.

Third, well, it is possible to "get" anti virus progams without paying. Though most of them would be illegal ti=o use without paying, there are a few free ones that work out there.

Lastly; keep your head cool, don't worry, that'll only make it worse.

Thanks for the advice so far...couple things I should probably mention.

I work on a farm. If *someone* doesn't do there work, things have a tendancy to...well...die. We had a few chickens die this week because *someone* didn't give them water. And we do have to work together...such as weeding the pumpkin fields or whatnot. He usually just finds a shady spot and plays with his ipod video or whines about working. Either way, its annoying having to pick up his slack. Oh well >_<.

:-/ and ya, I'm aware I can "obtain" things for free on the internet, I think that might have been part of the problem last time, so i've pretty much stopped doing that.

Thanks again for the advice you two. And ya, I need to stop worrying >_<

For the college one, check out the courses and see whats on them, then read around the subjects. Get hold of the reading list and try to read as much on it as you can. What subjects are you doing?

At work, there's not much you can do, for money I'd recomend selling your body. Seriously, it's a real earner.

Or stop going to sites that give you spyware. Yeah, uninstall limewire. Start using firefox. My first year of college I uninstalled all those programs and never had a problem with spyware. It was great.

Yeah, after I reformatted I made sure not to dl/install fileshare programs like limewire. Just downloaded and installed firefox too. I remember trying to install AVG (or similar) and Norton conflicted with it...(came with the laptop). Oh well. I'll do some research on it. Thanks for the advice thus far.
