store item amount number inside a variable

I'm trying to insert the total amount of an item (example: # of potions) inside a variable.

But this error is declared...

Maybe I'm just too exhausted to understand this problem, but logically it isn't working as I would expect.

Anyone know how to make it works?

The most likely problem is that you don't know about the script error in VX.  The variables are messed up, so you need this script to fix them.  If that's not the problem, then there's probably a conflict between any custom scripts you have.

Actually, I didn't use any script at all when I tested this problem, I used a bland project...
But this script seems to fix it perfectly, thank you!

At least, I know the problem wasn't 'me'. hehe
