Hey, this is pretty nice!
I've got it set to run on startup. Although, initial login was a bit of a pain for a couple of reasons.
A) I don't use IE
B) The remember me button only appears on the forum page, not the actual dedicated login page. Like, on the dedicated login page there is "Log me in automatically" but no "remember me"

Both are minor issues and to be honest nothing that are in your control at all.
Thanks for this man. Good job! Look forward to seeing more! :D

Edit:
I actually keep getting this:

Do I have to log in via IE & keep it open every time? Or does it just timeout? I guess I could actually test this. Brb. Testing this.

Edit 2: The re-editing:
You do have to keep IE open.

Edit 3: The Edit Strikes Back. Twice:
And it times out.

Oh "Log me in automatically" and "Remember me" are the same thing with different names as far as I can tell. If not, use the "Log me in automatically".

My IE doesn't require me to leave it open; I just log in on the portal page and it stays logged in for an undetermined amount of time. Differences in how your browser saves cookies could very well make a difference - make sure you have cookies enabled otherwise it may not stay after you close the browser.

It's a shame I had to use IE for it, but it's much easier than finding a way to hack into HBGames manually.

EDIT: Updated main post. Also uploaded a newer version that handles retrying after connection is lost.

I don't really know what the issue might be...
I downloaded the newer version, but it still does the same as what it did before. Does it display a message when it's trying to reconnect? Cause it doesn't for me...

It might be something to do with the way my cookies are saved, but every time I go into IE and press log in, it automatically logs me in... I don't really know how to check shit about cookies in IE. To be honest I don't know much about IE, for all I know I could be running an outdated version, and that might be the issue.

I timed it, it takes about a minute for it to timeout for me... :L
On the other hand, if I run it after being away, it does update me on what has been posted since I last logged in, so that's still useful!

Quite possibly. You shouldn't have to click 'log in' when you re-open IE, it should already show you as being logged in if it's saving correctly.

I guess because it worked for me I assumed it worked for all users.
I might make the debug log more detailed.

Interesting...

How does it work? How does it know when something's been posted?
Grabs the cookies used by IE and uses them when sending a request to the 'new posts' page. It then just checks the page at few-minute intervals and plays a sound when there's a new post.
