Status effect functions?

Hello! I'm more or less brand new to RMXP, and in the midst of my fiddling have come across a rather basic question that it's Help file doesn't seem to explain:

...What do the various status effects do? Some seem self-explanatory (I imagine Venom just inflicts some minor DoTing effect), but some I'm just puzzled by (...and even the obvious ones don't really detail information like how long they last). If anyone could just post a basic overview of what each one does, I'd be in your debt.

Look in the "States" tab in the database. Not only does this show what every state does by default, you can modify each state yourself, or add new ones.
