Stairs

If this is in the wrong forum I apologize.

With regards to stairs in inside maps, it looks more pleasing if they are tucked away nicely in a corner or up against the top wall of a room. But this means that there would be little room at the landing at the top of the stairs in the above floor. How do you guys feel about stairs that dont end where they should? For example, if I put a stairway at the top of the first floor, then have it lead to the bottom wall of the second floor, does anyone care if it doesn't line up?

I have seen a lot of people talk about this before, and it always seems to me that everyone prefers realistically placed stairs, but I never see them placed right in their games.

The Sims 2 is making me better at Interior mapping every day, and so I would have to say to place the stairs where they make sense, technically and aesthetically, is the best choice. Stairs leading into a wall really shouldn't be apart of the map at all. It makes more sense to make a portal that leads up stairs, ya know?

even the most popular rpg games have stairs that to be honest if you were to really walk up them you would actually fall out the side of the house :)

someone should put that in their game.

mine doesn't ;) i placed the stair in the hallway, and if you go upstairs you're exactly above it ;)
