Spriting Problem (VX) HELP!!!

Ello ^^
Im having problem with spriting actuelly... The problem is...
When i make a sprite (.PNG file) on Paint, It always has a "White" background when im trying it (test-gaming).
So when i walk around in the game with that sprite, The whole square/spot is white except the character.
Do anyone know how i remove the white square thing around the character sprite?

Please tell me ^^
Btw, I dont want to spend money on Photoshop -_-' Cause i cant even use it ^^ For some reason, I cant even run it on my computer.

Use the "import" feature in VX. Then select the white background as transparent. You always want to use the import feature when importing extra resources.

You may want to consider looking through some of the tutorials on the forum...even if they're for XP, they will help a lot.

Also, use the Search feature. This question has been asked several times.

So i can remove the white background in RMVX O_o?
Cool xD Didint knew that. I though i needed to use GIMP or any other programs, Which i dont want to download unless i can find a tutorial how to make the white background desapier /./

Thx for your help :D Really appreciated it.
how ever... I still have the problem that.. ehm... Im not a good explainer but.
Whene you import a charset, And want to use it as the main character, it doesnt really work ^^
Even though its the same size as the other charsets (stand-alone ones) It doesnt really want to let me pick it.
What i mean is, When i want to use it. It seperates the charset into 6 small pieces :S (huh?)
So what should i do so that it wont do that?

I'm not going to look it up to varify, but I believe in RMVX, if you put a $ at the end of the filename, it won't split it up into 6 pieces or whatever. (RMVX does this by default so that 6 characters can be in one graphic...kind of dumb).

The other solution would be to simply multiply the image's canvas size by 3, both horizontally and vertically, then make sure that your character frames are in the top left section.

You are pretty much correct except the $ goes in front. (Example - wrong: jonney.png, wrong: jonney$.png, correct: $jonney.png)
