Okay so here's how it goes, you may or may not know that for the last year or so, Spider-Man 4 has been in development. They had done the casting, written the script and were preparing for Principal Photography.
Suddenly Marvel have turned around and said...
"We're going to reboot the Spider-Man Franchise instead in 2012"
Why?
They've been smoking crack is my best guess....

What do I think of this?
I think that this is one the dumbest things a movie studio has ever done. This isn't like Batman where the series had drifted so far from it's origins and so far from Batman that it death and reboot was the only option. This wasn't a case of time as with Superman. This isn't like Bond as with series fatigue, or Star Trek, the same reason. This isn't a lack of money, Spider-Man 3 grossed over $900m. This MAKES NO SENSE. It is not logical from any point of view.
