Spanish thread

Hey guys, I've noticed that many of you are either learning or already knows spanish.
Why don't we give it a try and start an spanish thread!  :thumb:

We can all learn a little!
I'm Argentinian, and I've been learning English since I know my self...so..:)

Check this out! It's a conversacion with amercians, and,, other people.
i'm "NÃ

Is this going to be a thread where you teach people spanish, or is this just going to be a thread where spanish-speaking people just shoot spanish at one another?

Because the latter is not allowed (this is an English-speaking forum), while the former ... Well, the former is fine :)

OMG! Venetia posted firstt!!!!!! I'm sooo fuckin' proud of myself :P.
nah really,. we are gonna just speak spanish..or If someone has a cuestion.. I'as just for helping and fun

I'm editing the topic

At the inner city high school I work at we have a large spanish speaking population.  The amount I speak is extremely rudimentary.  I wouldn't mind picking up enough to be able to engage them in both languages, and to be able to know when they're asking eachother what the heck I'm saying and when they're just gossiping about non school stuff.

Yeah..I got that. But, us (Argentinians) speak a LOT different spanish, It's like a BIG slang..

but something would be like:

In Spain's Spanish:

"Buenos dias, como esta?"  Good morning, how are you?

but we more speek like :

"Que haces che, todo bien?" It would be more like " Hey, how are you doing?"

I like this thread. Mainly because it can be used as a learning curve.
The unfortunate thing is I don't speak any normal non cursing/insult Spanish other than asking simple questions, so for all I know you'll all be making fun of me D:

Seriously though, this could be a really good thread for teaching/learning about a foreign language.  Good job :thumb:

What's the literal translation of "¿Que haces che, todo bien?"

And I only took one year of Spanish but I remember being taught "¿Que tal?". Which is a form of que pasa or at least thats what I think she said. But what does it mean? Because I've tried to search for it but failed.

@60 1/4

We won't laught at you, we are learning..otherwise the thread would be like " let's laught about how bad we talk"

@khmp
"Che" is the common expression for "hey" ,

"Que haces" is like, literally, "waht are you doing?", but it's used as "how are you".

And "todo bien?", is like "It's everything ok?"

"Que haces che, todo bien?" =  " Hey, how are you doing?"

Awesome Bro

I'll remember that when I take Spanish in the near future of never. Althoughhhhh ... I'm going to Barcelona this year so maybe I can make use of it then ;D

Cool thread though.

Doesn't "me violaron" means I'll rape?
Va fanculo!

Anyway, this thread's a good idea. I'm hiking through Central America this summer, so I picking up a little more Spanish sounds great.

@etheon

I'll rape is = Voy a violar

hhaa, va fanculo xD. that's Italian...

Thanks, if you want more frases like "Me violaron" , here they are :P :

_Son of a bitch : hijo de puta

_Suck my cock, blow me : chupamela ( suck it)

Rape = violar
Fuck = cojer (in Spain "cojer" means "grab")
cock= pija, choto, verga (just slang words, the real one is "pene")

or if you just want to insult:

La re concha de tu hermana hijo de remil puta. Si vos la puta madre que te pario, forro de mierda!

That would be like.. nothing, just ask someone,s it's too many slang. xD

Saying the occasional fuck, or fucking stupid, etc. is fine, but tend to keep it away from explicits unless your genuinely got a joke to tell (IE: make it a joke and I for one won't bother unless it bothers others).  Generally simply because we have a lot of younger audiences, and those who do not enjoy certain profanities.

Oh and since I'm here, I've always been curious.  What would "sixty and a quarter (fourth)" be?  I'm too lazy to look it up properly :\
When I tried I got something that didn't translate back into English properly, and I someone said it was entirely wrong.

Nice! A fellow spanish speaker. My nationality is colombian, but I was born in L.A., so I'm a bit rusty on it. This is an interesting thread. let's people show a bit of their bilingual side. :)

Also my name in spanish would relatively be the same, most likely. Unless the D and J were pronounced in spanish. Then it would be Deh Ho-tuh Jack.

HOLY SHIT!  No way!
I have a neighbor they call Deh Ho-tuh Jack!!! Well technically it sounds like Deh Huto Jack, but still!

also,
Thanks for the translation!  I knew something was off (I had the Sesenta y cuatro come up in translation XD)
