Sounds stop playing.

This is a strange issue that began occurring fairly recently. When i first boot up my PC after a restart, everything works fine, and I can hear whatever I need to. However, after maybe about 2 hours, sound effects or BGS' will stop being heard when I try to play them. It seems to start with the .ogg's, then the .wav's, and the MP3's are last (and once those are gone [after about a week], no sound on the computer works unless it's a windows error message sound)/ This is pretty annoying. I need to know what sounds or bgs' to play, but I can't hear them if I have my computer running for too long, and thanks to its shitty restart time, I can't just restart everytime the sound begins to go.

Is this a soundcard problem or what? And is there a way to fix this?

Does this only happen when you play RPGMaker games or does it happen when you do other things? Like can you watch videos and stuff?

Once the .mp3's are gone, all of my computer's sound is gone.

I'm not sure if it begins to go before I startup XP or after.
