Sound card

Hi,
My sound card is stuffed right and when i goto RPGXP it says Could not initialize Direct X audio so i downloaded DX 9b like i read some where installed RPG maker XP restart my computer and it still came up PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Go to Start->Run, type dxdiag.  Go to the Sound tab, copy what it says in the Device section, the Driver section, and then click the Test DirectSound button and copy what comes up in the Notes.  Post that stuff here and we might be able to figure something out.

Do you have any other DirectX apps running?

it says No sound card was found.  If one is expected, you should install a sound driver provided by the hardware manufacturer. and yer its in my computer and it stoped working for a month but i've been using rm2k (Rpg maker 2003)

If your running windows XP use the windows update link and check under software and hardware.

Right click on "My Computer" and select "Properties". Click on the hardware tab. From this window, click on "Device Manager". Your sound card should appear undor "Sound, Video, and Game controllers." If it does not appear, look under "other devices." If the computer no longer reckognizes it, then it will appear as "unknown device." When you find it, right click on it, select "properties."  It should tell you what theproblem is.
