Theme of the Game
Unlike most traditional RPG's in the past, Soulwake will be set in the modern world. A world no different than ours, that is rapidly approaching something unprecedented that will change the course of history forever. Some believe this is what the Bible talks about, while others think it's the beginning of the new age. While the ancient Mayans devised a calendar of the universe that ended in the year 2012 that would be marked as a time of spiritual enlightenment. Whatever course history might take, by focusing on a game that revolves around this topic, I'm hoping to establish a closer connection with the player and the hero. Soulwake will discuss various spiritual issues of life along the character's journey as well as different aspects of our world that are rarely discussed.
They have spent countless eons scouring the galaxy in everlasting chains of darkness...among the abomination that is called Nibiru, a war machine prison planet infused with the souls of the fallen and driven by the very nature of sin itself. It harnesses a power inconcievable by the standards of mankind, and at its core lies it's source, a weapon called Satan, the once great covering cherub who was cast out of heaven along with 1/3 of the once heavenly host. Their consciousness has been seared as with a hot iron, the very reason God imprisoned them on Nibiru.
He is called the Prince of Air, and enthroned at the heart of Nibiru he plots his strategy for his final war, laying waste to infinite barren planets and destroying stars to travel in light speed in his search for mankind and Earth, scanning day and night amongst the cosmos for the moment when the signal will be transmitted from Earth's airwaves, revealing our exact location.
Unfortunetly, this day is closer for Earth than anyone ever expected. For mankind has not only made contact with Nibiru, but is about to complete the final bridge to the spiritual world as well.... Where David and his crew are about to embark on the greatest and most dangerous journey that has ever been taken in the very course of time itself. Only with the Sword of the Spirit, and the help of a loving but almost forgotten God can he restore peace to his beloved world.
Soulwake is based in our world and the player starts off in America.
Party members will range in all races and social classes. Through
the first few hours of gameplay, the world is changing at an
incredible rate. The war in Iraq has exploded into an uncontrollable
religious war that engulfs the entire middle east compelling world
leaders to bring a greater sense of unity, an internal revolution is
flaring in the midst of America, weather patterns are changing
significantly, war sparks among other nations, a biological attack
on the USA kills thousands while at the same time mutating and
transforming man and animal alike leaving wastelands of zombies,
hybrids, and chimeras, leaving much of the rest of the country under
martial law and forcing millions to fend for themselves against
these creatures, a meteor crashes into the pacific ocean plunging
mankind into even deeper chaos and questioning why their maker
hasn't saved them yet. A spiritual force known as kundalini is
adopted by the mainstream as the only hope mankind has to overcome
this hell, but sadly many choose to abuse this power, plunging the
world into deeper chaos. This confusion opens the gate for a
sinister dictatorship that relies on deception and fear to control
the world and bring about a new order.
You journey through this scenario meeting friends and allies that
will help you survive in this world and eventually you discover the
secret behind this deception. You are granted the "Sword of the
Spirit" to engage the spiritual forces of darkness that are now
plaqing the world.

Once the shores of New York are attacked with biological/chemical weapons, the city literally becomes a Wasteland filled with human turned zombies who have lost all sense of reality, mutants genetically altered from the radiation, along with multiple hybrids of animals who have either mutated with other animals to create chimeras OR alone attack you in groups. Once the radiation levels have dropped you our allowed access into the city by Quarantine.
