I'd say probably the best way to fit the character in is to soften the outlines and the shading. The background has a very soft feel to it, so the character seems rather harsh.

The other alternative is to modify a battler to look like the character in the picture. That might give it a different feel too :)

Thanks Lunarea I got rid of some of the outlines and softened the rest, It blends in alot better now, I also detailed the chest a little more so it looks a bit better.
I posted the touched up number 2 above.

It looks much much much better now :)

If you can soften the outlines on the mask on his face (maybe just make them a darker gray instead of black, it'll be even more cohesive :)

I was thinking that was needed, here i'll post it fixed. Its subtle but i changed it..... perhaps more?

It's looking very nice now :)

I find 1-pixel black lines to be harsh in general, whether they be in facial features or on clothing. Hence why people will use "pen" tool or a softer version of a pencil when they draw in photoshop sometimes. It can be tough to smooth out the lines too sometimes, but you did a great job.

The two pictures fit a lot better together. Good job

Yea, we all have our own styles i guess and im definatly not the black hardline type. My favorite way of outlining is to use the burn tool lightly on it making a nice fade-in line......of course sometimes you have to use the dodge tool cause of lighting.
