[SOLVED!]Is there a way to scroll the fog in RMXP?[SOLVED!]

I must be over looking something. I found the script for scrolling panoramas but can't find anything for scrolling the fog in RMXP. Clouds and fogs do not just sit still, they moved with the wind right? I suppose that I could use the show pic, move pic, pic trans to accomplish a fog like effect if there are no other choices.

All right. You can do this with events fairly easily. The only problem is that it's kind of hidden. Go to page two of the event commands, and select "Change Map Settings...". From there, click the radio button next to "Fog Graphic", and click the arrow on the end of the selection box. That opens up a page where you can select a fog graphic (by choosing one from the menu to the right), set its opacity, blending (Add means that it adds to the colors below, making them brighter, and Sub does the opposite, making them dimmer, and looks rather like a negative). You can also set the zoom (100 is normal size) and the scroll direction. (By setting the number of pixels it scrolls along the x (SX) and y (SY) axes every frame)

I feel like an idiot! Well I am an idiot much of the time. Thanks for pointing out the obvious to me.

No problem. As I said, it is rather hidden, when compared to many other event commands. You aren't the first to have trouble finding it, and you probably won't be the last, either.

I made a demo for this earlier for someone else.

Check the comments for a reference if you like. :smoke:

Ha! Ha! Kiriashi that was excellent! It wasn't necessary as I had already figured it out, but it was VERY entertaining with the chipmunk music and all. That's a really great way to present tutorials. Thanks for the laugh!

Oh do not fear, I have not discarded your demo. I like to keep such in case I forget specific details of how to accomplish something in the future. Even when I script or event something myself I usually open a new game and tackle the problem with a fresh slate, then after I have what I need working properly I put it into my actual game and save the new file as a demo in case I (or someone else for that matter) might run into the same problem in the future. Your demo was excellent however, and well commented (something that I need to get into the habit of doing) and will definitely be saved in my archives. Thanks again.

No problem!

Yeah, commenting can become necessary when your events get full of conditional branches and variables and such.

Make sure you either always comment about the event command above the comment, or always comment about the event command below it. This way you will be less confused.
