Envision, Create, Share

Welcome to HBGames, a leading amateur game development forum and Discord server. All are welcome, and amongst our ranks you will find experts in their field from all aspects of video game design and development.

So, I have no idea WTF I'm doing! Yesssss.

Well, what's your ultimate goal for this webcomic? Do you want it to be just a casual thing, or do you envision a popular comic, hundreds - thousands of readers, etc.? Where do you plan on taking this?

Basically, you need to come up with a plan. How often you'll update, who your readers will be, and where you envision this being in a couple of months or a year. Realize how much time you have to set aside for yourself for this to be successful and stick to a schedule or something.

Maybe put yourself out there in the webcomics community? Make yourself known. There's thousands and thousands of webcomics out there, but you gotta find out how to make yours stand out. The vast majority of webcomics suck, so what will make yours any different? The art? The jokes? The characters?

I'm not an expert or anything, but I've learned alot about webcomics for the past year. Keep with it, and if it makes you feel any better, webcomics can still be terrible and do very well! (see: Ctrl+Alt+Del)

Ahhh very valid and good points sir!

Ultimately, I really just want to learn and adapt in my drawing skills. I've always been fascinated with webcomic series like PA and I sorta' wanna start this as a self project that will force me to draw something "meaningful" atleast once a week. I mean don't get me wrong, popularity is nice and I would have to work tremendously to even scratch the surface of online popularity, but all in all I really just wanna dedicate myself to something that'll make me practice more

help?

Usually the sites who sell domain names have their own space storage (mail, uploader etc...).
You might want to check your contract, pheraps it's included.

hmmm. all I could glean from the godaddy website was that "not hosted here" but I do remember signing up for 5 emails with 2gb storage, but I don't think that's it.

When you enter the management section of your site, there should be an uploader, and it should specify how much space you've used and how many you've left.

Godaddy is a horrible place to buy from. I know it's the most commonly known one, but if you accidentally let your domain lapse, they grab it up and sell it for a premium, and park it until then. As for purchasing and hosting domains, I would have recommended Dreamhost. Good service, excellent plans, and relatively cheap to boot.

Maaaaan. Ok, welp an old high school friend seems to be interested in helping me. I shall post updates on my foray into this mad world of the interwebs.
