For starters, all of my works are intended to be Japanese style, to compliment Tana's Edo Castle exterior and expand a full world of Japanese style materials.

I plan to add a large number of additional tiles to the tileset (please feel free to make suggestions!), as well as males and females in kimono. I will not be making a male ninja to accompany my female ninja since ShowKaizer's own male ninja can be easily converted.

Note: Please DO NOT USE THESE MATERIALS. They are not ready to be used yet, shading is not complete, I am posting them here for the purpose of critiquing, suggestions, and analysis.

I like the tileset, could you add some grain to the wood with lineart. Would bring it out alot more.

Its good to see more people supporting the gRTP, i'll soon join in on this as soon as i finish college in a weeks time.

But anyway, good job on the tileset, bald female ninjas ftw! (just to point out mac knows its incomplete :P). Keep up the good work.

Yeah, I'm still going back and forth on her hairdo. I thought about a black ponytail but that could be too cliche. I'm currently considering some kind of short cropped hairdo, possibly covering one eye, maybe in dark blue or dark green. I may also add more details like a black belt, etc.

badmonur, I thought about it but I think that would add too much color depth and keep it from looking like a gRTP tileset.

Before I progress any further with my ninja chick, I want opinions... Do you folks prefer her with or without the cutout in her leotard?

The cutout works alot better, and no i'm not only saying that to sound perverted XD its because it can be shaded better as theres usually too much room to shade that your not sure how much to shade.

Anyway good job!

Hm, I get what you're saying. She's not actually any less shaded in the solid version, but the cutout does give it more detail.

I updated both the room and the ninja chick, and gave her the first potential hairdo she'll have. ^^

So, opinions/input?

Well, just keep in mind as far as the hair goes, that it is gRTP, meaning it's cell shaded rather than the wider range of color values.

I think you've actually got too many colors in the hair right now...and I'm not sure about the green with the red... but the cut it fine. Maybe make a few alternatives?

Thank you SO MUCH for the examples, Tana! I've been dying for sources like that to look at. I've lowered the hair back down to three values (line, base, and highlight) and made the hair purple in my master copy, which I'll be uploading as soon as I get a few more poses complete. Do you agree with Fallout that the contrast needs to be punched up, or do you think it fits with the gRTP style?

I think a bit more contrast would be nice... Especially the outline.
I'd use the gunner as more of an example than the girl, cause she was done before the gRTP got started....

But the great thing about the gRTP style is that its extremely easy to recolor later. ^__^

I've updated the ninja chick! I'm hoping to also release my kimono lady soon.

EDIT: Also updated my tileset with an obi rack, cushions, wooden wash basin, a futon cabinet, some misc cabinets, and the start of some shading! I think I may have finalized my wood colors.

I'm liking the update, very nicely designed and as you've mentioned some of it has started to be shaded....so i await to see it complete

Updated the tileset again! This time with a ton more wall variations, some detailed wallscrolls, windows, a kamidana (home wall shrine), obi rack, etc. ^^

I've been looking everywhere for the male template, and where did the face graphic come from? Tana do you have any copies of the Template that I can have?
