The story so far...

In a world far away but very similar to our own, war is raging.

The two major powers battle for conquest of the Hibernian continent. The Union of Four, made up of the nations of Libennia, Espisaea, Atlannion and Ferrevus, join forces to combat the growing menace that are Norvani and Itacius, the Twin Empires.

Libennia and Norvani had been enemies for centuries. But recently, revolutions in technology and industry have sped up the growing unease between the two countries. An arms race was born, each superpower struggling to remain strategically ahead of its foe.

Meanwhile, Dr. Carver Gallagher, a respected Libennian archaeologist and historian who spent years travelling the globe and discovering hidden secrets, stumbles upon the greatest discovery in his life time. He finds the ancient Book of Navitas, which describes in great detail a hidden city – Altus - deep within the monstrous Katsu Mountains. This city, supposedly built by a civilization that died out thousands of years prior, was fabled to house an enormous power that would make its bearer nearly unstoppable.

Immediately Dr. Gallagher gets to work, deciphering clues and following the trail to the location of Altus. But as word of his newest project gets out, the Norvani government finds out. Edmund Volker, the Norvanian equivalent of Dr. Gallagher, begins to set out on expeditions of his very own to find Altus, assembling a team of elites to get to work.

Years pass. Tensions continue to rise between Libennia and Norvani. Little progress has been made in finding Altus, and the initial excitement has all but vanished. Volker halts progress on the Norvanian side, and all but one of Dr. Gallagher’s men has deserted him. But even young Lewis Graham grows increasingly disheartened when it seems all their effort has been for nothing.

Dr. Gallagher and Lewis decide to embark on one last journey to find the city. They are gone nearly four months, and when they return, they have not found the city. But they have found information, and more importantly, they have found the Key.

The Key, a tetrahedron-like object, is the only object that can open the impenetrable doors that barricade the entrance to Altus. Without it, any chance of entering the city is impossible.

Upon Dr. Gallagher and Lewis’ return, they are celebrated as heroes in Libennia. The search for Altus is on once again! Libennia will trump the despicable Norvanians and reign as the true dominant power in Hibernia!

On a pleasant summer day, Dr. Gallagher and Lewis are flying to the capital Lucidia with the Key to give a presentation to the Libennian government. They take an airship, the standard mode of travel.

En route, they are ambushed by Norvanian planes. They intend to only take the Key and nothing else, but things quickly get out of hand. The airship crashes; Dr. Gallagher is killed. Lewis, however, survives, and rescues the Key before the Norvanians can find it.

News of the attack gets out. Libennian attitude towards Norvani turns hateful. It’s all it takes for Libennia to finally declare war on Norvani. The battle begins.

Lewis, aware of the massive power he has, decides to retreat into hiding. He decides it’s best to wait until the war is over before the expedition resumes. Nobody expects it to last more than a year.

But as Espisaea, Atlannion, Ferrevus and Itacius enter the war, it escalates out of control more quickly than anyone could have imagined. At the center of it all is the brutal conflict that is waged on the border between Libennia and Norvani. Each nation is equally powerful, but Norvani has a secret up its sleeves...

It is the present day. Each day, thousands are killed in the bloody battles that riddle the Hibernian continent. Norvanian spies are everywhere. They have infiltrated the Libennian government, and have begun influencing their decisions from within. It seems there is little hope for Libennia, that the Twin Empires will reign supreme.

But in a small, cramped room on the third floor of a run-down apartment building in downtown Lucidia, Lewis Graham is hatching a plan. He needs a team, he decides, and a hell of a lot of luck if this scheme is ever going to work.

Welcome to the resistance.

Blue = The Union of Four
Red = The Twin Empires

Libennia: The country in which our characters live. Libennia is a democracy, and has a system of government very similar to Commonwealth nations, with a prime minister as the leader. The government, based in the metropolis Lucidia, is broken down into five subdivisions: the Ministry of Law, the Ministry of Technology, the Ministry of Resources, the Ministry of Society, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs- each responsible for a different part of Libennia. Recently, Norvanian spies that had been position in the government for decades have been activated and have begun corrupting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, resulting in a series of strategic decisions that are making Libennia lose the war.

The past few decades have not been kind to Libennia. In years past, her grip was extensive, and at one point nearly a third of the land in the world was under the Libennian Empire. However, a series of revolutions and an increase in people wanting independence have contributed to the erasing of the Empire. At present, only six other countries now pledge allegiance to Libennia.

Despite a shrinking influence, Libennia is still easily one of the most powerful countries in the world. Thousands are willing to die for her, and her people will not give in without a fight. Libennia is in possession with some of the most advanced technologies in the world, with contraptions such as Stormwalkers, zeppelins, Skyboats, and the massive air fortress Colossus.

Norvani: Perhaps the only country in the world capable of matching Libennia in terms of strength and influence. Ruled by a vicious dictatorship, the Norvanian people have a reputation for being cruel and violent. Despite their foul demeanour, they are hard working people, which has helped them attain the level of power they have today. They are extremely loyal to their country and a series of propaganda campaigns has spurred an irrational amount of hatred towards Libennia.

Like Libennia, they also are at the forefront of technological achievements. While the Libennians may have the advantage in the air, the Norvanians have clear dominance on the sea, with vehicles such as submarines, Aerowassers, and the Herkules, an enormous floating stronghold.

Norvani is the only other country besides Libennia that has made any sort of discernible effort to find Altus. When years had passed and no trace of Altus had been found, Edmund Volker, leader of the Norvanian team, called off the search. But when word got out that Dr. Gallagher and Lewis had found the Key, Volker became enraged. Wanting the Key for himself, he sent out pilots to steal it while Dr. Gallagher and Lewis were en route to Lucidia. But things went terribly wrong, and the Key was thought to have been destroyed in the crash. However, there is a rumour that the Key survived, and Lewis Graham has resumed the search with a new team...

Atlannion: Part of the Union of Four, fighting in the war against Norvani and Itacius. They are not a particularly powerful or influential nation, populated mostly by humble fishermen, but they have a lot to contribute towards the War at Sea, and do all they can to aid Libennia.

Ferrevus: Libennia and Ferrevus have had conflicts and wars in the past, but in recent years the relationship between the two nations has majorly improved. Although not directly on the frontlines, they still help Libennia in any way possible.

Espisaea: A large, northern country that borders both Norvani and Itacius. Despite being separated from the other countries that make up the Union of Four, Espisaea is extremely powerful and can hold up on its own. Her people are fierce and tough to beat, and there are no shortage of Espisaean men and women to fight the Twin Empires.

Itacius: A southern country that borders Norvani and Espisaea. She fights along Norvani, forming the Twin Empires. Although her contributions to the war are currently not much more than resources and a few battles along the Itacius-Espisaea border, there is growing worry that she will mobilize her naval troops and attack Ferrevus and Libennia from the south.

Belgit: A swampy, neutral nation wedged in between Libennia and Norvani. The people of Belgit do their best to stay out of the affairs of its neighbours, but as war draws closer and closer, Belgit knows it is only a matter of time before war is on their doorstep.

Sylvatrus: Another small, neutral landlocked country. Surrounded by mountains and wilderness, access to Sylvatrus is difficult, and she prefers to stay neutral when it comes to foreign affairs. The Sylvatrians have made large contributions to technology and they are known for being resourceful and intelligent.

Lucidia, Capital of an Empire

Lucidia is a massive city. It has a population of millions and has a size comparable to cities like Paris or London. And it has a basic layout that looks something like this:

Green = Royal Parliament Buildings
Red = Power Station
Yellow = Lucidian Laboratories
Purple = Airship Station
Orange = Museum Lucidiae
Brown = Lucidian Central Library
Black Dot = Lewis' apartment (9th floor)
Blue = River Rondeau
Try and picture it as something like this in your heads (pictures not mine) (also, they're kind of big):
Chronopolis_final_by_Osnotropp.jpg
Absurdopolis_Cargo_Bay_final_by_Osnotropp.jpg
Some of Lucidia's most important locations include:

Central Square: Located right in the heart of downtown Lucidia, Central Square is actually a circular shaped park where thousands gather. All sorts of street vendors, protestors, citizens, and people with something to say collaborate in the largest place of its kind in Libennia.

Royal Parliament: The headquarters of the entire Libennian government is situated in two large buildings by Central Square. Thousands of government officials ranging from the prime minister to secretaries to judges to lawmakers work here.

Lucidian Laboratories: This is the place where a large chunk of Libennia’s technological development occurs. Every day, some of the most intelligent scientists in the world churn out new engines, vehicles, weapons, and tools for making life a little easier.

Power Station: A massive plant that generates most of the electricity supply for Lucidia. It is the largest building in Lucidia, comparable to buildings like the Empire State Building. Although it uses technology like windmills and steam, most of the power is harnessed from massive reserves of energy found deep underground that are mined and processed to convert to electricity. It is still relatively new and as a result the higher portions are still being built.

Airship Station: An enormous multilevel station where airships and zeppelins from around the world dock to load and unload passengers and cargo. Despite being located downtown, it has a sophisticated boarding system that can hold ten airships at a time. Crashes are almost nonexistent, as long as nobody messes with the system...

Museum Lucidiae: A large museum that houses everything from archaeological artefacts to art. It houses many valuable items from throughout history, including manuscripts and maps from the Katsu mountain range.

Libennian Central Library: The largest library in Libennia is home to thousands upon thousands of books, scrolls, maps, stories and compendiums that have been collected for thousands of years.

River Rondeau: The River Rondeau flows through Lucidia and it is this river that gave Lucidia life in the first place. Flowing all the way from the mountains of Sylvatrus down through Belgit and out to the Southern Sea, most of Lucidia’s industry and transportation was centered on this river. In years past it hasn’t been as important to Lucidian growth and development, but it remains an important symbol of Lucidia’s power and progress.

Lewis' apartment: Found on the 9th floor of a rundown apartment building just south of downtown, Lewis' apartment is our team's de facto headquarters for now. It will be an important location for meetings and gatherings.

Starting off

As mentioned in the background, my character, Lewis, is planning on starting another expedition to find the lost city of Altus. At first, it will all be about assembling the team, getting to know everyone, and then the adventure is off. But before we can journey to the other side of the globe in search of the city, we need to cover a few things in Hibernia first.

Lewis, who most people think is dead after the airship crash that killed Dr. Gallagher, has retreated into hiding. As a result, he’s lost nearly all contact with any of his colleagues or friends. In order to assemble a full, functioning team, he’s started placing advertisements around Libennia, asking people to auditions for a “special expedition to the other side of the world – riches beyond your wildest dreams!”. He doesn’t really know who he’s going to end up with, but for such an important journey he plans on choosing only the best.

Of course, all your characters will get on the team. But there must be a good reason for it! Your character must at least contribute SOMETHING to the team to help find Altus before the Norvanians do. In other words, don’t make your character completely useless.

Before the RP starts, your character has seen Lewis’ ads and wants to join the team. There should be a valid reason they want to embark on this journey. Do they love the thrill of adventure? In it just for the money? You get the idea.

Last thing. There are three starting locations, and from each your character must work their way to Lewis’ apartment however they can. (it shouldn’t take long) This is also an opportunity for your character to meet others for the first time.

Lucidia Train Station (if your character lives outside of the city): A large train station located on the outskirts of Lucidia, where trains from all over the country assemble and unite in one location.

Airship Station (if your character lives outside of the city): Located in downtown Lucidia, this is a large, multilevel station where airships and zeppelins come to load and unload passengers. It’s basically like an airport, except way cooler.

Lucidia: If your character already lives in Lucidia, they can start off wherever they live and make their way to Lewis’ place.

How to Play

This is a massive RP. I’ve spent a lot of time developing it and working things out, and I don’t want to see it go to waste. Please keep this going! I would be very happy to see this continue for months and want to see everybody posting on a regular basis. Make an effort to contribute as much as you can (within reason) and we can make this thing work.

This world is very much like late 19th century Europe in culture, behaviour, and resources. The world is full of people from strange lands, and Lucidia is very much a multicultural city. People generally act well-mannered and try to look proper, so if your character is an impolite slob, there better be a good reason for it!

This is not a very action-oriented RP. Yes, there will be exciting chase scenes and fights and whatnot, but it’s not a struggle for survival or anything. It is heavily based on exploration, travel and character. I have a very loose idea of what Hibernia is like, but not much more than that. It’s up to you guys to create locations, people, establishments, organizations, objects, machines, etc., and make this world come to life.

Much of the RP takes place within the city of Lucidia. It’s a big place, full of many fantastical wonders and contraptions. Use your imagination! Create some elaborate machines, marvellous machines, and nifty gadgetry. For crying out loud, it’s steampunk. Go nuts.

Your race must be Libennian, Atlannian, Espisaean, Belgitish, Ferrevussian, or Sylvatrian – you cannot be Norvanian or Itacian. They’re the bad guys, and any of them that are still in Libennia are being ostracized and singled out.

For goodness’ sake, use the maps! Don’t have your character turn left on King Street and end up on Riverview Lane, because that would be silly!

You must post at least once every two to three weeks, otherwise something terrible will happen to your character!
If you for some reason want to quit the game, please let me know so we can take care of your character.

There will be a lot of things going on, and all the different things that are happening will be difficult to keep track of. I will do my best to sum things up in the OOC thread and clear up anybody’s confusion. But this also means that you guys have to keep track as well. Do your best not to leave any gaping plot holes or leave out major elements.

Restrictions

If you speak more than one language, you cannot be both mechanically and historically proficient.

If your character is proficient in boating, he/she cannot be proficient at piloting, and vice versa.

If you are not proficient in both hand-to-hand and weapon combat, you are automatically proficient in either history, mechanics or stealth.

If your character does not have much of an education, they are automatically proficient in at least one of the two combats, but cannot be proficient in history or mechanics.

Fill this out and post it in this thread. I need to check over your profiles and approve them before you can play.

Background:

A proficiency of 1 or 2 is considered not proficient, 3 is considered somewhat proficient, and 4 or 5 is considered proficient.

Your character can be anybody you want, really. If you're having trouble, imagine Libennia as Britain in 1890. (that's mostly what I based it on, anyway) What kind of people would there be at that time? Obviously in Libennia there is a bit more leaning towards steam-powered technology but other than that things are really mostly the same. Your character should have something to offer towards our team, whether it's stealth, information, or even just brute strength. We'll need all sorts of skills, so anything your character can bring to the table is helpful.

Also, pick character traits and attributes that make sense. Is a humble farmer really going to be well versed in ancient civilizations? Will a sheltered in, educated old professor really be a force to be reckoned with in hand-to-hand combat? Consider things like this.

I can't really elaborate on roles people will hold in the team until I get a good idea of what all your characters are like, but the more variation we have, the better.

The game will start when I've approved at least four characters. (not including mine) So get posting these sheets! Feel free to ask any questions if you're confused. It's kind of a lot of information to take in at once :x

Name: Lewis Graham
Age (18-60): 34
Gender: Male
Body build: Average
Starting point: His small, shabby apartment located on the 9th floor just off of King Street, near downtown.
Nationality (cannot be Norvanian or Itacian): Born and raised Libennian.
Mechanical proficiency (1-5): 3
Historical proficiency (1-5): 5
Stealth proficiency (1-5): 2
Hand-to-hand combat proficiency (1-5): 1
Weapon combat proficiency (1-5): 3
Piloting proficiency (1-5): 3
Boating proficiency (1-5): 1
Education: Attended Elridsvil University and earned a Master’s degree in archaeology and eastern history.
Spoken languages (1-3): 3 – speaks fluent Libennian, Norvannian and Ferrevussian
Other important info: Wears glasses, and can hardly see without them. Also has a crippling fear of water; refuses to board a boat or even go swimming.
Background: Lewis was raised in one of Lucidia’s more affluent districts. His father was a surgeon and pressured him to get a job in medicine. However, Lewis’ true passion was for history and archaeology. Against the wishes of his father, he enrolled at Elridsvil University and launched his archaeological career.

While studying at Elridsvil, he met Dr. Carver Gallagher, an esteemed professor. Dr. Gallagher took a liking to Lewis’ eagerness and enthusiasm, and the two quickly became acquainted. When Dr. Gallagher started making trips to explore the Katsu Mountains, he invited Lewis to tag along. Lewis proved to be a valuable asset to Dr. Gallagher when they embarked on their journey to find the Key.

Lewis was with Dr. Gallagher when their airship was attacked and Dr. Gallagher was killed. Lewis rescued the Key and disappeared. Most people assumed Lewis had been killed and the Key was either destroyed or taken by the Norvanians. Lewis retreated into hiding, vowing to end his archaeological career. However, when war broke out, Lewis decided that he had to find Altus once and for all, and began posting advertisements, looking for possible contenders to join his team.

hey dadevster you should probably elaborate on things such as roles, jobs, skills, etc. To be honest, I dont know where to begin creating a character. The background info is nice. I like you.

i don't see how it's that hard but okay

bacon it can be ANYBODY, just go nuts!! you are so used to RULES that's why, fight the MAN, fight the POWER, etc.

Name: Michael Covin
Age (18-60): 34
Gender: Male
Body build: Lean, tall.
Starting point: Train station
Nationality (cannot be Norvanian or Itacian): Libennien
Mechanical proficiency (1-5): 4
Historical proficiency (1-5): 5
Stealth proficiency (1-5): 1
Hand-to-hand combat proficiency (1-5): 3
Weapon combat proficiency (1-5): 2
Piloting proficiency (1-5): 4
Boating proficiency (1-5): 1
Education: Attended several academies across Libennia. Was forced to stop his travels after the war began, as extensive travel was viewed as suspicious.
Spoken languages (1-3): 1: Libennian
Other important info: Although he wears glasses, he only needs them for extensive reading. (Otherwise pilot's training would have been out of the question) While he has training in hand-to-hand combat, he has never been forced to use it in a real-world situation, meaning he has yet to be introduced to actual violence.
Background: Michael was born the second child of an upper-middle-class family. Thus having been forced out of a significant inheritance, he convinced his family to fund a rather extensive education abroad, that he might be able to make his own place in the world. Aside from the categories listed above, Michael has also studied the natural sciences (such as geology and physics) and mathematics. He has doctorates in Geology, History, and Mathematics, as well as minor degrees in various related disciplines. He has been asked on several occasions to join the staff of one of the universities he attended in the past, but has declined each time, stating a need to continue learning as his primary reason.

Michael has an obsession with learning, and loves to tease the secrets out of the world around him. While his memory is by no means perfect, he has trained it to the point where he is far more likely to remember something on the spot than most people, since some of his studies required observing experiments that changed rapidly.

Michael has a negative outlook on life in general, both as a result of his life at home as a child, as well as his studies around the country, where he has observed far more of negative value amongst the people themselves. Although he has a pessimistic outlook on the world, he has very little experience with violence itself, and has not been shocked into the realities of war. Chances are that, in the event of significant violence, such as the death or severe injury of a friend, he would lock up, being unable to cope with the shock that would cause to his view of the world.

He decided to join this group of travelers after becoming increasingly fed up with his lack of travel and learning. After going through the course material of his choice at the last university he attended, he took a post as an intermediary operator at a local wire company, repairing and maintaining their technology. Having become fed up with the job and the fact that he was being significantly underpaid (People for that post were in high demand, as the military was grabbing them whenever possible), he decided to go to the source of the mysterious fliers that had appeared across the nation, to see if there might be something he could learn.

Awesome Bro

Name: Barry Jenkins XVII
Age (18-60): 57
Gender: Unknown
Body build: Morbidly Obese
Starting point: In the gutters of James Street, Lucidia
Nationality (cannot be Norvanian or Itacian): Libennien
Mechanical proficiency (1-5): 3
Historical proficiency (1-5): 4
Stealth proficiency (1-5): 1
Hand-to-hand combat proficiency (1-5): 5
Weapon combat proficiency (1-5): 3
Piloting proficiency (1-5): 2
Boating proficiency (1-5): 1
Education: Dropped out of school due to his unwillingness to learn anything.
Spoken languages (1-3): 1
Other important info: He is morbidly obese and although denies it, he needs a special helper to help him through his day as a jobless bum, he has diabetes which took one of his feet, and unfortunately has a club foot.
Background: Barry was born into a simple family, and was named after his father, who was named after his father and so on for the last 16 generations before Barry himself. He dropped out of school at a young age, and decided he had nothing left to do with his life, so he just ate and ate to get through the days. He was a fat child with a club foot and was laughed at by people who walked past him as he wandered around the streets looking for things to do.

As he grew older, his obesity worsened, and his dad offered to give him a job working in the Pub, but being the stubborn person he was, Barry declined this and was eventually kicked out of his household due to being too lazy to do anything with his life.

For the last three decades, he has lived on the streets of Lucidia, scrounging any scraps of food he can from passing citizens and the waste from the restaurant that resides on James Street, where he has made himself a shelter to call home.

When he was 42, he lost his left foot to diabetes, which he had no idea of having, since he was never diagnosed with it as a child, and hadn't had any medical care in his life. His remaining foot is weak and is unable to carry him anywhere, meaning he has to crawl around, however, he found a storage cart which he occasionally uses to move around the disposal areas of restaurants and peoples houses, scrounging for the food he needs to survive through each passing day.

A few years ago, Barry tried to change his ways, and was desperately looking for a job, as he needed medical attention and a proper place to stay, and had to settle with handing out flyers to the people passing by, however, he decided this wasn't enough.

Just weeks ago, he saw a flyer advertising a man looking for travellers to help him. Although Barry knew he had serious mobility issues, he knew he could offer his history skills which he had picked up off the streets, from asking people to teach him things about the history of the world, he had become interested with this once he saw airships coming in and out of the station, delivering goods from all around. He also knew he could offer his body as a form of defense, as a human shield and could use his skills in hand to hand combat to fight off any dangers that may come their way, but in order for this to happen, he would need someone to help him with his mobility, some sort of vehicle that was nimble enough to move him around so he wouldn't get left behind.

Unlike most citizen's of Norvanian, the Bauers disagreed with the war effort. Unlike Libennien however, they were not allowed to express this discomfort. Therefore, the Bauers packed what they could carry and headed out far deep into the countrysides of Libennien.

Five Years from present day:

After a string of hardship's such as debt, the Bauer's move to the nearest city, Lucidia, to find work. It is there where Boso, Petrus's father, dies due to a fatal accident during one of his shifts in the factories and leaves behind a son, a daughter, and a wife. Pompilina, Boso's wife is left with her two children, Petrus and Stephaneta. Because the Bauer's still practice the customs of Norvanian, it is hard for them to find work in Lucidia.

Present Day:
Stephaneta has been ill for quite some time and the expenses of her medicine. Pompilina is broken. She is faze-less and has aged twenty years in the last five. She has grown old and weak, and her spirit broken. While walking home from work, Petrus overhears two women talking about a man named Lewis and how he was looking for someone to work with him. Background: Elizabeth's (who prefers to be called Lizzy) father was in charge of freighting goods from the mainland of Belgit to the island. When Lizzy was old enough to swim, her father started bringing her with him and taught her about the different types of boats during their trips. The job paid well since his company was the only one delivering goods to the island at the time, so he was able to pay for Lizzy to attend standard school until she graduated with a basic education. But shortly before her graduation, her father's ship was attacked by a small Norvanian fleet. They claimed to believe that they had information stating that his ship was carrying military weaponry that belonged to Libennia. Both Lizzy and her mother were devastated.

As a way of getting revenge, Lizzy decided to work her way to Libennia to offer her services to the military after graduating. However, she decided to leave whatever cash was left over with her mother and find ways of getting money along the way, which usually involved pickpocketing random people and stealing what she could (a habit she developed when she was younger, although her parents never found out she was a kleptomaniac). When she got closer to the Libennian border, she was caught trying to steal a firearm from a soldier and was arrested. She was labeled a spy and transferred to Mallis to testify. She was found guilty of attempted theft, but cleared of being a spy, and served her time, frustrated at having to wait around until she could join the military.

But while she was in jail, she received a letter from her mother, who had managed to track her down. She was barely managing to scrounge up enough to live back in Belgit. Knowing her father wouldn't want to see her mother starve, she decided to further postpone her revenge to find money that she could send back to Belgit. She decided to head for Lucidia to find work, but on the train she noticed a flier for "riches beyond your wildest dreams"...

He doesn't pickpocket the random passerby.....often, but rather saves his energy and plans for bigger heists. He was born in Ferrevus, but once he was 18 and dropped out of the university of history and arts, he moved to Norvani to try his luck pulling a major heist. He broke into a museum in Norvania and manged to escape till he tried to sell his haul to a Norvanian soldier who arrested him. His excitement got the best of him.
Luke is not the best in escape arts, but when the soldiers came to take him to trial, he bolted, using his young athletic skill to run past the lazy, untrained jail guards. He swiped the keys off them as well and made his way out of the city as quick as he could. He hid in the country for a few days, watching soldiers put wanted posters of him up on almost every street corner. Luke pulled a few more burglaries from Norvani aristocrats and made a good bit of coin. Most of his earnings he has givin to the Norvanian lower class. While 'loyal' to Ferrevus, he can not see someone go hungry.
Currently, he is making his way around the world, looking for my places to steal from. He has moved on from stealing and giving to the lower caste, but instead steals from people who don't need their riches; The dead, the aristocracy, and sometimes the loud businessman down the block. Luke is a creature of his own will, and does what he will. He acts like a gentlemen thanks to his upbringing and mannerhouse schooling, but his prone acting based on his mood and not his head. He saw Lewis' add at the train station and wondered about the great treasures of Altus, and decided it may be a good idea to lend his talents to the team. While he knew they may not trust him if word of his activities was around here, he hoped they would understand that there was no way for him to carry all the treasure and keep it for himself. Maybe just a few bags of jewels, that's all.

Name: Sheryl Rolsmede
Age (18-60): 31
Gender: Female / Cyborg
Body build: Tall, fit
Starting point: Airship Station
Nationality (cannot be Norvanian or Itacian): Espisaean
Mechanical proficiency (1-5): 2
Historical proficiency (1-5): 1
Stealth proficiency (1-5): 2
Hand-to-hand combat proficiency (1-5): 5
Weapon combat proficiency (1-5): 3
Piloting proficiency (1-5): 1
Boating proficiency (1-5): 1
Education: too poor to afford proper education; read what she could from scavenged books and news items
Spoken languages (1-3): Espisaean, Libennian
Other important info: a human warrior fitted with machined parts (see below), very strong but bulky and slow; unable to speak; quite ugly.
Background: Born into a poor family on the countryside of Espisaean, Sheryl lived a cruel childhood in a land raged with war and famine. When both her parents died in an enemy bombing, the teenage girl moved to the frontlines and signed up for the army.

Brave and nimble, Sheryl made an excellent soldier. Over the years, she participated in several successful raids and attacks. One day, however, a stealth operation went terribly wrong, and she was captured and brought to a small lab in Norvania. There, they performed horrible experiments, amputating her limbs and replacing them with robotic parts, trying to turn her into a war machine.

They succeeded, but only partly; when the engineers tried to insert a chip into her brain, it fried and damaged her ability to speak coherently, as well as other minor problems (occasional dizziness and nausea). Driven mad from pain and suffering, Sheryl broke free and killed the Norvanians. She escaped west and threatened a Norvanian to pilot her to Lucidia.

There, she attempted to board an airship home, but with such an ugly appearance and an inability to speak, no one would help her. When she discovered Lewis's advertisement and the promise of an "expedition to the other side of the world"-- her only chance of returning anywhere close to home-- she decided, out of desperation, to take up the offer.

@ Glitchfinder: Cool character. Everything looks good. Approved.

@ JBrist: Interesting character, but his stats look a little weak. You could make him a little more proficient in weapon combat if you wanted or improve one of his other stats, although that's completely up toy. Otherwise, looks good.

@ bacon: Everything appears to be in order. You can make him slightly better in combat if you want to, but it's not necessary.

@ Panther: Maybe weaken her stats a little more. She speaks three languages, is quite proficient in combat, and can drive a boat very well, which is maybe a tad much. The fear of heights is a nice touch; it will be quite the crippling weakness later on... ;3

@ OrbitDuke: Everything looks good. You're in.

@ Regicida: Your stats look fine, and your character is really interesting! yay steampunk

Alright, I'm going to start up the RP tomorrow. By all means, everybody should keep signing up! It will still be a while before all our characters are acquainted and things really get going. The more characters there are, the more interesting things become :D

Jason

Awesome Bro

Wait wait wait, Guardian, why do we have the same surname? THAT IS NOT COOL IF THEY'RE NOT EVEN RELATED!

And yeah, I always think up "unique" characters, he's completely different from everyone else, yet can still work at the same time, and yeah I suppose I could improve his stats a little, up weapon combat to 3/4, and increase his Mechanical Prof. too, I'll just bang that up to 3, seems reasonable...

Name: Cecile Lartesian
Age (18-60): 23
Gender: Female
Body build: Averagely tall, elegant.
Starting point: Lucidia
Nationality (cannot be Norvanian or Itacian): Ferrevusian
Mechanical proficiency (1-5): 1
Historical proficiency (1-5): 3
Stealth proficiency (1-5): 1
Hand-to-hand combat proficiency (1-5): 3
Weapon combat proficiency (1-5): 5

Other important info: Enjoys reading in general but especially about fighting and is a very good gymnastic, due to her elegant shape. She has an ultimate fear of fire and flames due to past trauma.

Background: Cecile was born in Ferrevus to a comfortable, rich family. She lived with her parents as well as her older brother, Richard, who was older than her by 4 or 5 years. Her life was all destroyed, however, when her house was set on fire because of a reckless maid's mistake. She and her father were out the house, fortunately but her brother and her mother weren't. Later, her mother's corpse was found as well as the others' like maids and servants, but her brother's wasn't. And it never was.

Cecile and her father were devastated by the accident but her father decided to move them to Lucidia to begin a new life there, since everything he had in Ferrevus was destroyed in the fire but he fortunately had some business left in Lucidia.

Cecile's love for history made her father educate her about it, especially about wars and fighting. He also decided to teach her how to defend herself by teaching her weapon combat as well as some of hand-to-hand combat.

However, Cecile had always wondered what had happened to her brother, whether he was dead or not, or he could have escaped.

She recently saw the ad that was all around the streets and thought, "Maybe this could be a new adventure for me, and maybe I can find out a thing about what really happened to my brother!" She decided to set about going on this journey, and with the help of her combat skills and history knowledge she could be helpful.
