side view battle system characters

Could you provide a link to the script you're using?

if I remember correctly you have to make a new character set for it with only one character instead of 8 and add "$" to the name (i.e "$Vince.png")

Okay you need to cut on char set out and save as
$name.png

Name = whatever you want.
