Shining Force WHAT?!?!?!

When is playing games enough? If you answered never, then you're ready for this. While walking home from school one day, you notice a sign that says rare "video games sale today only!" After 2 seconds you say "I'm there!" When you arrive at the shop, the dim lighted old building almost makes you say "See ya!" until you spot it. A rare system in a silver box with the words "PROTOTYPE" written on it. You say to yourself that you must have it so you pay the shifty- eyed man the money he wants for it and you leave.
After getting home and spending an hour trying to open it, you finally succeed only to find out that its a Sega Genesis system. There is a note attached to it that says "Play me and your other systems will be obsolete." After laughing a moment, you throw the note away and whip out shining force 2. After all, its your favorite game. So, you play for sometime and finish it, then go to bed. That night something happens. You hear a loud crash and wake up only to see that your in another person's room. Then your mom yells from the kitchen: "Bowie, it's time to get up!"

I would just like to add that this is NOT an exact recopy of the game. while it does loosely follow the storyline of SF2, it isn't a remake. This is a parody/spoof of the game. I decided to mix it up and go funny instead of serious.

I haven't played Shining Force 2 but that's ok, the plot itself sounds intruiging in any case!

SF2 is one of my favourite oldies lol I look forward to it the sprites look nice but a bit shadless cannot wait to see more.

So you made those tilesets yourself? They're pretty cool.

Those are transformed from the 16-bit sega version into kaizer ready tiles. I'm still looking for the perfect city style kaizer tiles, but I'm afraid I'll have to do that myself.

Well it looks kinda odd having tone on the characters but not on the tiles.

I know it might look a little weird cuz some of the posters are a little off color, but over all its shaping up very nicely. Yes that's a Sega console on the table.

I am putting the finishing touches on the menu system. I'll be using the Ring system made by Dubealux.

As for the Battle system? I'm hoping to use a modified version of the zenith tactical battle system. I want this to have the feel of the original while not being the original.

Your gonna see a little more action in this one than before.

I have returned with more news. The project page in my profile will give more info but I have decided to go another way with the story. I had a brilliant idea over the weekend, so it will change slightly i think.

Shining Force will be a part of the game, just not as much.

Sounds interesting, but as i said...change the name, the "WHAT?!?!?!" is just annoying.

The entire game is getting an overhaul so, I'm still deciding on a name. I'll change it when I get the name down.

Edit: While I'm not giving away the story as of yet, I will tell you that a lot of memorable characters from the different video games will make a cameo and help you throughout the game. I hope to keep this project alive as long as I can.
