Sharing Maps?

My friend wants to help me with the development of my RPG. Is it possible for him to help me design maps and have him send me the file and I can upload the Map to my game?

Is there any way that I can do it so that I dont have to send my entire project? Reason being is so that we can both work on maps at the same time and just ADD them to one project in particular.

For example: I have the main project but my friend only wants to design maps. He makes the maps, sends them to me, and I upload them to the project.

I want to know if I can do this and if so, how?

Yeah just the MapXXX.rxdata files and the MapInfos.rxdata from your data directory. Just so you know the MapInfos is what decides what maps show in the program when you run it. And you probably shouldn't have the program running when overwriting these files or you'll get weird results.

This might also help you... if you plan to make use of switches and variable give yourselves a set amount (for example you have 1-200, and your friend has 201-400) just so they won't interfere.

Just a thought. Good luck! :)

IF you're going to use the mapinfos file, I would also 'divvy' up the map numbers.
you work on maps 1-10. He creates 10 'dummy' maps, then works on maps 11-20.
(or something like that). Otherwise, you will need to rename all the MAPxxx.rxdata files,
and create dummy maps in your project as placeholders.

Be Well
