Setting Parameter Help

Hello,

I'm having some trouble setting the parameters in RMXP. The default parameters for HP, SP, STR, DEX, AGI, and INT are way too high. I've tried to make the HP=50 and the SP value=20, but then I'm not sure on how to change the parameters for the enemy.

Can anyone help me lower the parameters and adjust it accordingly to the monsters as well? Thanks for any help.  :smile:

One way to do it is lower every parameter by a certain %. Since Enterbrain's already given you some nice default parameters, all you have to do is do some calculations (or have a calculator do the calculations). For example, let's say you have 1000 HP but you want it to be 500 HP. So you would lower every actor and every enemy's HP by half (50%). If you want to lower SP by say 60%, you'll have to lower the skill costs by 60% too. Just play with values, and adjust them accordingly to what you think is right.

EDIT: Oh, not sure if I really understood your question. Do you mean you don't know how to change parameters for the enemy? Just go to the "Enemies" tab in the Database, and change MaxHP and MaxSP to whatever you want.

Thanks, I'm trying to change the parameters right now. I've changed about half of the parameters for the characters, weapons, armor, and enemies by 20% (multiplied the values by .2). However, when I compare a battle (with Ghosts * 2) between the changed and un-changed parameters, the damages aren't similar.

For instance, I attack the Ghost in the changed-parameter battle and it does about 1/5th damage. When I attack a ghost in the default-parameter battle, the normal attack does 1/2 the damage.

Is there a way to make the damages proportionate?
Sorry if I'm confusing anyone...
 
If you change attack, you have to remember to also change defense to balance it out, otherwise your attack will do a lot less. The same goes for Agi and Dex, Int and MDef, etc...
