Seperation of church, state, and people with autism

If they can prove that a behavior is a threat to others, being a private property, they can in fact legally discard anyone they want from the area.  It's that simple.  Whether it is a moral thing for a church to do, what with the whole go to church or burn belief, is more tricky.

If there is so much as one other acceptable prayer service in the area, technically they aren't denying religious rights - they're just telling you to have them elsewhere.

It's always hard to tell who is telling the truth.  The parents could be lying because they like the church, while the church could be lying because they think an autistic child will somehow hurt their reputation.  Some people lack patience, and patience is necessary in some situations.  Unless there is some sort of evidence that Adam actually hurt someone, I don't see how they can accuse him of anything.

The article lacks some vital information, such as who said he was a danger.  Was it just the preacher, or was it also the members of the church?  A testimony by a member of the church would be very useful in deciding how much truth there is to the statements.

However, ignoring a restraining order was not the best way to deal with the problem.  She should have disputed the restraining order before protesting it, and I highly doubt God would have wanted her to break the law.

Just so you know, not ALL autistic people are like that guy.

I just wanted to clear up any confusion.

They aren't!? :gasp:
I'm moving this, because its more of a current events topic than symposium.

you know what i hate. when people give you a link and say HOW DO YOU FEEL?

summary plz. not everybody feels like reading an entire news article.

If he was being disruptive, he was being disruptive. If the church didn't want them there, the family needs to get over it. What's the point of fighting to go to a place where you are not wanted?

A church is a private place, and it should be up to the SOLE DISCRETION of the owners of that property as to who is allowed in the building.

Religious organizations are private organizations.

If churches lose the ability to deny service- What's next? You lose the ability to keep strangers out of your home? It's private property, folks.
