Scrolling Shooter WIP

It's been a while since I've posted anything, and actually, since I've done anything to do with game making. So I decided to do some spriting since it's been so long. Theres some bits about what I ended up with that I'm happy with, and others that just look terrible. Well, thats what you get when you don't keep practicing. But I need some constructive criticism. I've started spriting a side scrolling shooter thing, and this is what I have so far.

Obviously the sky isn't finished at all. I just haven't got a clue what to put there yet. Dunno what to do with the bit underneath the kurb either. Anyway, I also animated the character.



It's only four frames so I couldn't make it very smooth. No idea what the gun is either, I kind of sprited some sort of hand gun/shotgun cross.

I really need some critisism of what I've done so far, really need some help. I'll keep updating this with new stuff I do. I don't see anyone wanting to use it, but if you do, I'm afraid you can't. Please don't use it.

Ok, so I've updated it a bit, with a new idea for the style. Comments?

Hmm... he sort of looks like he is hunching his shoulders
As well, for when he puts his back leg forward, it looks more like he's sliding than stepping. The two different legs' animations differ too much.

lmao, super bump. I wonder if he's still working on that, it looks really good and interesting compared to other games we see around here.

omg, totally forgot about this. kqurmiz, what was that necropost for?? I wasn't even using a script, this was just the spriting for a game I may have made. Haven't worked on it for ages. But lol, thanks for the comments. I may try finding this and carrying on at some point.
