ScriptKitty's Pixel Pad

It's about darn time I made one thread to put all my original works in. Tana's new Japanese tilesets have really inspired me so I want to start work on some Japanese interiors.

NEW: Basic line work, unshaded obviously... This is a set of Japanese interiors designed for my Naruto: Nekketsu Konoha Daikessen game. DO NOT USE THESE MATERIALS. It consists of a floor, tatami mats, two doors, a pillar, a wall, twin futon, single futon, single futon with sleeping curtains, a bookshelf, go board, small chest of drawers, table, folding screens, a stair-cabinet, wooden boarder for a hearth, a hanger and pot to be hung above said hearth, and cabinets for a kitchen with a wash basin.

EXAMPLE: This is my most up-to-date version, including rips from NexusTK and a wood texture hijacked from RTP tiles.

My first set of WIP Hair!

No matter how thin the mattress pad is, you should still be able to see a pixel or two of height at the bottoms. :) Also, I'd hope to see some wrinkles in the finished product.

Good start. The curve on the curtains is particularly nice.

Well, as I said, they're obviously not shaded yet. Since drawing lines for wrinkles always looks crappy, they'll be done purely in shading. Also, the shading will show the thickness and curvature of the edge of the futon.

Since my first post, I added the thick ribbons to the curtains to allow them to be drawn up and tied.

Truth be told (and I shoulda pointed this out), I took the color pallette from Tana ^^;;;; It's all the same colors as on her Edo tileset. I'll of course be revising the color pallete later, I just want to see how her final coloring/shading style comes out so I can try to make my set mimic the same feel (so the tiles will work together).

I heard you talking about those in IRC, at leasit think it was them, they look pretty good ScriptKitty, not to sure i would want to have long thin hair like the black haired ones if i was female. :D

But anything goes in RPG's. Looking forward to seeing some more work from you.

Well, that's not -all- of their hair. The one on the top row has her hair pulled back into a bun and the one on the bottom row has two buns on either side of her head, only small portions are left down. ^^

Ohh i see, and i spose that bit isnt really needed either seeing as the body would cover that area anyway.

EDIT: Ohh and are you still working on the tileset?

Very impressive linework! I see you still haven't shaded it, which is a shame. I think the hanging structures look odd. The rest of the tileset has a 45 degree angle view, but these are shown straight on. Those objects should be tilted more.

Your perspective is off on the pots. You should be able to see more of the top.

Ah, thanks! I knew there was something wrong with it but couldn't place my finger on it... One of NKD's writers thought they were hanging plants ^^;;;

EDIT: Updated the pots. How do they look now?

naruto tileset? interesting, ive never seen any make those, its a nice change, that pots look fantabulous, keep up the good work!

The wood textures look nice. ^_^ But since the light source is from above, the tops should be lighter than the sides.
