Troll:
Hello people, I am making my very first sprite, a Troll! I quite like him though I want some feed back on him/her, I don't like the way I have done the hair.

Also I would like some tips on how to make each body part stand out more and look defined (The hands look weird right now. I will update as soon as I get some tips). Well for now, enjoy!

Hhmm. That is a pretty good start for sure! I'm not sure how he would look animated though. Can you make a gif? I like the way he moves, it has a lot of character.

He looks much better with hair, but the "mane" needs a lot of work. it is too regular, it looks like he greased his hair and combed it, 50's slicker style. Try to make it a bit more wild. Here is my own example, although it is not the best: http://www.rmxp.org/erk/puppy2.png[/img] you don't have to, and shouldn't try to, draw every individual hair clump. That makes it too orderly.

Also, on his face: the shaded lines under his nose are way too bold, they look like a mustache. Try lightening them a bit, and adding more wrinkles to make them stand out less. Finally, his face shape is better with the hair but it could use a little more defining: right now it is pretty blobbish.

Keep it up! I am eager to see more.

The animation is choopy. And it doesnt look like its walking, more like a DJ..
Havent you tried putting arms in the 1st and 3rd frames?

I like the Lava elemental's design... :)
But contrast... its too bright...

Yeah, I based it off Kevin Walkers. From Drawing and Painting Fantasy Creatures.

Okay, the new one is better.. But make the legs farther apart to follow the rules of gravity.. The troll looks like he's gonna fall off... Move the right leg more to the right.

Shade the nose to enhance the depth please.. :D

(okay, are the things on the bottom legs or arms? From the book is saw shorter arms than legs... If so, bend them(arms) a bit..)

As I thought, your walk animation is pretty wacky. For one thing, since his fur is asymmetrical, you can't just mirror him to get the last frame, you have to mostly redraw it (or if you are clever you can cut out his arms and just mirror them). Otherwise you get that weird fur thing he has going on. Also in 4 frames you have to keep the animation a bit subtle or he gets that chunky look where everything jumps too far to tell what is going on. You could try adding more frames to make him a high-animation character, or you could tone down the movement on his arms. The actual movement you have is good, it is just too extreme.

Very nice job on the improvements though! Thanks for listening, it is a nice change :)
 
the brightness is way too much on the last two. Not sure what's going on with the shading since it's too hard to see with the saturation. But the girl's hair is too straight in front of her face. It should curve along with the contours of her face since the head is round. Her little bracelette thingies are done well and I like how you shaded the gold.
 
Just so you aren't confused, I merged your two threads that you had going there. They were starting to mirror each other in updates and responses. In the future, try to keep as much of your work organized into one thread, to make things simpler.

I cleaned the thread up a bit, merging posts and whatnot. You may want to reorganize your first post, though, because it got a little messy in the process. Again, stick to one thread and we can avoid any confusion. Thanks.
