Sacred 2 Fallen Angel

Sacred 2 Fallen Angel is a hack and slash RPG for the PS3/360/PC. The game is huge! The world map is 22 Square Miles! Max level is 200, 500 side quests and 6 character classes to pick from and a expansion coming out soon if they decide to port it to PS3 and 360. Anyways I'm just curious if anyone else plays this? Anyways if you do play what char you use and what kinda build? I Currently got 3 Chars right now. First there is my shadow warrior... hes level 7 and then my high elf who is 17 anyways they don't count cause they suck.

My Main is a level 60 Seraphim. I'm currently playing though Gold Difficultly with her(it's being a little to easy so far -.-). Mainly shes a Melee Build so most stuff i use is to boost her Attack but i do use a few magic spells for Long range or area of effect damage(only useful if I'm being ganged banged by a crap load of enemies) Also, two-handed swords + 150% attack speed = godly :p

So anyways who plays this AWESOME game?

I got this game it's so boring though. I think diablo got it right in that the action is fast paced, bloody and to the point. Voice acting is good in d2 and even if there is no character development and story depth there is a mature and believable story.

In sacred 2 .... graphics are cartoony like they are a kids game (lack atmosphere), the voice acting is a joke , story is a joke, cinematics are joke, walking around doing quest is joke because you need to cover a lot of distance. All the quest just give you item rewards and no real emotional impact because the story behind them is so shallow. Also you buy a mount for what? So that you lose all your abilities and depend on the horse abilities unless you unmount which takes seconds off gameplay? :/
1 more thing there is like really low strategy you need to play this game. Even in silver difficulty you just make a seraphim who can dual wield and you just max your skill level on a buff, then max pelting strikes and you're good to go for the rest of the game.

Honestly I bet the average rpg maker in these forums can make a more engaging story than sacred2. The story is about the world losing T-energy or something, and T-energy spawning dark monsters lololol.

my 2 cents

Just wondering... have you REALLY played Sacred 2, or did you just watch someone play it for an hour or two ?

the graphics aren't cartoony they're just very colourful, and I think Ascaron did a good job with 'em to be honest, especially considering the camera angle you're at, so it doesn't have to look perfect. The voice acting COULD be better, but come on, some of the quotes are bloody epic, lol. A large map is always better than a small cramped map, especially since there's so many places to explore, it gives the game a feel of adventure, and also there's the minibosses to go look for, lol.

Actually with a mount, yeah, the normal mounts you can't use your skills, but it's sort of common sense, if you could use skills on WoW while mounted, you'd be overpowered to fuck... and if you want to use skills while mounted on Sacred 2, you can go to Orcish Byway, talk to the person wit the big beam of light coming from him/her, and do the mount quest, giving you your class/special mount, which runs faster, and allows you to use skills on it anyway.

You say there's low strategy needed to play the game, the way I figure it, there is... especially if you're partying with someone... if there's a group of enemies, half are ranged, half are melee, the melee of you two takes out the melee enemies, while the ranged/magic takes out the ranged enemies... if there's too many enemies, you avoid them... if you're fighting elementals, you use weapons/magics that deal damage of the opposite element to do more damage, these are all strategies just so you know... And besides, the game wasn't meant to be strategic anyway, but there's a damn lot more strategy right there than in Diablo II. Besides, can we stop with Diablo II, everyone compares this game to it so much, just because it has its similarities...

And that's just one of my many backup statements...

Yeah graphics very colourful ... is not very mature or atmospheric generally.. is it? The voice acting also ruins the bloody atmosphere. Man, they are making jokes and it makes the game like a kids game. I had to turn the voice off just to roleplay but even if you do it's less interesting, and there are no subtitle options so in cinematics you hear nothing. therefore its a dilemma.

The elemental system has always been there in d2 where monsters are immune to an element.Ok and I cant stop comparing d2 because d2 has set the standards in ARPGs... just like FF set the standards for JRPG

My point about the skill system is you can just win off the skills you start with early in the game if you just max them. This is unlike d2 where you depend on both your low lvl skills AND ur high lvl. For eg as a sorc you start off with skills that are weak but are still helpful in lategame (warmth, cold armor, synergies) then in end game you get a lot more tactical variance - i,e teleport, energy shield and powerful attack spells, which some need skill and precision to use (eg meteor). In sacred u start off with those spells initially, as long as u trade with a spell dealer. Also most of the skills i tried dont require much skill to use. So I mean all this , not only makes the game feel it has very limited variance in tactics, but also makes the game devoid of the mystery of the PC's skillset as well.

I think sacred 2 had a lot going for it but it failed to get the most basic things right and focused on graphics and making the world. It's a pity because if it had a mature atmosphere , more mystery and tactical variance... and a story that is actually made by a real author.... instead of some brainless guy who thinks it's okay to make an RPG's storyline CLICHE AND DULL AS HELL it would have been right up there.
I would never slam a game if it was good and well maybe if you play multiplayer it might be less boring than single player. i refuse because I have better things to do :)

just so you know the game gets alot harder on Gold-Noib Difficulties.... also SPAM LVLING A SKILL IS DUMB! it will make you have long ass spell cool down time.... thats stuff you need to lower. I made a mistake a spam lvling pelting strikes and got its cool down time to almost a min @.@ but now its like 8.2 secs. ANYWAYS today i tried beating the swamp area on gold... i got to the final boss in that area but he was doing lots of damage to me D: so now il have to go lvl up! yays -.-

Yeah that's retarded too. they try to innovate on the skill system yet sometimes its better not to put points into skills. I maxed the dmg buff asap. i think with a seraphim u can prolly win the game with 3 or 4 skills. like that jump attack, pelting, dmg buff and the dashing skill. Also why would u go for a 2hand sword when dual wield obviously hits harder in DPS and u can get 1 more weapon's modifiers?

I don't like dual wielding that's why. I prefer ether to use Two-Handed Weapons or a sword or shield. I'm not going by what DO more damage I'm just doing on what I like more. Also so you know it takes A LOT of skill to play in Noib.

Don't chew my fuckin' head off, Mega, but I got it on 360. It's probably the best game I've played in a looong time. I've been playing a Shadow Warrior and an Inquisitor.

The game lacks a solid story, but it doesn't matter because running around and killing things is all I need. Great game, seriously.

Okay, I'll chew it off !

Lol naaaah.

But to be honest, I don't really know what's going on with the story, since it seems you get a new storyline with every quest you do !

But yeah, it is incredibly fun isn't it, and yay for Shadow Warrior... if you're playing the light campaign ofcourse, lol.

Shadow campaign. I don't know what the difference is. I'm having more fun just pimping my character out. I just got my unique mount. So much better than the other mounts because you can keep your buffs active, so I can run around super fast with my spectrals in tow. The only mistake I've made with my Shadow Warrior is giving him both Astral Lord oriented skills. It came in handy for a bit 'cause I modified my spectral soldiers up all the way, but now it's biting me in the ass.

Edit: I'm enjoying how I've begun to build my Inquisitor. I'm just to into my SW to start another guy. Inquisitors are a good blend, for sure. I like how I can pull a huge mob of monsters shoot them with lightening, which kills most instantly and couple more with DOT, and then I get right up close and smash bitches with my dual maces.

Lol I'm a little bit of everything on my Shadow Warrior, although I only put skills up on Death Warrior, but my equips give me skills from the other combat arts, and whenever I get a rune, I'll use it, I think I've got near enough all the skills, but as said, I only put my skills up manually in the Death Warrior tree, since the skills are better for dual wielding, lol.

And the only difference between Light and Shadow campaign, is a few quests, maybe four or five, lol.

But yeah, the Hellhound (Shadow Warrior mount) is the fastest of the lot, with a 60% increase of movement speed, YAY !

from what i found so far about the shadow... you go a different route... buts thats all im noticing so far... not much of the story cause i dont really care. ANYWAYS im having trouble on the last mist monster on Gold so im going to lvl up. Im just going to go and active some of the teleporter things to help make when i do work on story again make it so i have to travel less :p btw lvl 62 now

I don't use an insane amount of my SWs skills. I use Belligerent Vault and some other Death Warrior one, and that's about it. I have a fast attack speed and always keep my weapons strong.

yeah same with seraphim at first... but slowly i used more and more. I started off with battle stance and pelting strikes. Then I added in Radiant Pillar... doesnt do so much damage but it helps. and YES attack Speed = Win.

Twirly, or maybe he just put that, since that's the console he's got it on ? Doesn't mean he's a fanboy, although he is anyways, but so what ?

Gonzo, I can't really say I've used Belligerent Vault much, I mean, I do have it, and I'll use it to jump into a crowd of enemies, and then let loose with a fury of Demonic Blows, which I've upgraded to inflict poison, severe wounds, and hit multiple enemies, so as you can see, it's pretty overpowered at the moment, and does the job nicely, lol. I've also made a combo with Demonic Blow, Scything Sweep, and Frenzied Rampage, since the first two do more damage, and the last attacks quickly, leaving the combo strong AND fast, which is always nice. I've also got another Combo with Rousing Command and Killing Spree, so I have increased attack from both skills (Upgraded Killing Spree), and when they wear off, the charge from Killing Spree will usually clear any enemies around me.
