Running RMXP in Windows 7

I have tried to run the service pack compatibility, run as administrator -_- and for some reason RMXP still wont work on windows 7. The error that pops up is not the "unable to find ntitles server" or whatever, but it only says "RPG Maker XP has stopped working. windows is trying to fix the problem" unfortunately <_< windows never fixes the problem and just closes.

does anyone have any bright ideas? if not this could be the end of my rpg making

i believe someone has made a tutorial on this.

thanks ully (yes, that is your new name XD), i just realized I tried installing PKE rather than the real version, and PKE doesn't function in windows 7 XD. But no worries, as the link says, the real version works fine
