RPG Makers Recommend Music

Kudos to whoever noticed what I did there..

Anyway, recommend a track or artist for other users to listen to.

My first would have to be Joycey and Royce Da 5'9". Both lyrically insane, with enough rhymes and punchlines to fill a jew's wallet. Best style of Hip-Hop if you ask me, and it ain't some idiotic bullshit you hear in the likes of Laffy Taffy. Give Royce's Death Is Certain album a listen to. Or if you're after specific tracks, look up Boom or Hip Hop.

I'll be back later with more emcees and metal bands.

Another Artist I would like to mention is Nas. Nas is lyrically one of the best MC's hands down. God's Son, Stillmatic, and Hip Hop is Dead are one of my favorite albums from him.

Tupac and Biggie are another good pair, but that is already a given.

if we're talkin rap, aesop rock 'daylight'. seriously, everyone i know likes that song, even the people that claimed to hate all rap liked that song when i sent it to them.

jedi mind tricks 'uncommon valour' only for the insane RA the rugged man verse. paz' is lame in that track, but RA's is sick.

i never got into nas, dude's boring. :\

kanye west is an arrogant douchebag with the most boring delivery in all of mainstream rap.

he sounds like he's just talking over the beats. that could be overlooked if his lyrics were actually something special. theyre not. i've never understood the big appeal of kanye.

Phrase it less mean, I hate him too but that's no reason to phrase it so harshly - Andy

PS other guy if you respond in kind I'm going to do something angry

Iron Maiden was a band I listened to when I was young, great band... Thin Lizzy, I'll give it a try, and Pink Floyd is amazing.
I found a nice band yesterday at the music store, the band is called Synaesthesia and the album is called Ephemereal. Ambient/electronic music.

Greenday - before you rant, I'm not talking about American Idiot, I'm talking about Dookie, their best CD.

Led Zep is awesome, as is Pink Floyd, and Thin Lizzy. And er... find a band called "The Sparks", it's annoying but sadly it'll grow on you.

Hmmm... mmmmm ... mmmm Best rap... uh..

Uh... Bad meets evil by Royce and Em.
Kanye Wests - Cant tell me nothin.

.. I am more of a fan of r&b.. Ginuwine, Usher, and Ciara.. blah blah blah. Not like it matters,  I am just posting because I like seeing my avatar.

Jason

Awesome Bro

If anyone here likes Heavy Metal etc. then I think you'll like...
Killswitch Engage

Their my favourite band ever...
A mix of scream, singing, and amazing god damned music !

If you don't like them please don't say anything bad about them, It's 2AM here and I'm wearing £200 worth of their merchandise, so piss me off, and feel the wrath of Howard !!! (Lead singer)

Definitely. Nas has got the best catalogue in Hip-Hop, bar none. Sadly though, I've listened to all the albums you've mentioned too much in the past few years, and I'm gonna have to take a break from them so they can re-capture their former glory. Illmatic on the other hand never gets old. What can I say? It's the best Rap album of all time. That includes underground, mainstream, and cross-over.

Here's a list of the best tracks of his I can think of. Those new to Nas should download those in bold, as it really highlights his versatility...

- 2nd Childhood
- Affirmative Action
- Black Republican
- Blaze A 50
- Book of Rhymes
- Bridging The Gap
- Can't Forget About You
- Classic (Better Than I've Ever Been)
- Destroy & Rebuild
- Doo Rags
- Drunk By Myself
- Fetus
- Get Down
- Got Ur Self A...
- Halftime
- Hate Me Now
- Heaven
- Hip Hop Is Dead
- Hold Down The Block
- How Ya Livin
- H to tha Omo
- I Gave You Power
- It Ain't Hard To Tell
- Just A Moment
- Let There Be Light
- Level 7 (Take A Picture)
- Made You Look
- Memory Lane (Sittin' in da Park)
- Money Over Bullshit
- My Country
- My Way
- Nas Is Like
- No Ideas Original (Race Against Time version)
- NY State of Mind
- One on One
- One Time 4 Your Mind
- Project Windows (original version)
- Purple
- Revolutionary Warfare
- Rewind
- Road To Zion
- Shootouts
- Stillmatic (Intro.)
- Success
- Suicide Bounce
- Surviving The Times
- Take It In Blood
- The Cross
- The Essence
- The Message
- The N...
- Thief's Theme
- Too Hot
- Verbal Intercourse
- What Goes Around
- You're Da Man

Oh yeah, he's my favourite emcee too. I know, I know, there's Penguin jokes that are less obvious than that...

As for 2pac & Biggie though, I don't really consider them to be on the level of the likes of Nas, Royce, and Big L. They're not even top 20. However, that's another discussion for another time.

I feel your hate man. Let's reflect it off eachother to destroy the fucker. He's possibly the weakest emcee ever. Vanilla Ice is better ffs. Although I was actually surprised at his verse on Classic, but I suppose he got a little help from Rak, Nas, and Kris.

A UK emcee peeps should look out for is Marvin (formerly known as Marvin The Martian). He's got a great single out right now called Get By (Be Good). It ain't any grime shit either, it's some real social commentary over one of the best British beats I've heard since the first time I listened to The Natural Curriculum. If you're from the UK, and love Hip-Hop, you're gonna want to keep your eyes fixed on this guy.

BTW, what did peeps think of Joycey?

Regardless of your opinions on Kanye West's own music, there's no denying he's one of the most important and innovative hip-hop producers of the day...I mean, he's even been one of the producers for Nas' more recent work...
