I've always thought that rpg maker needed to be gimped terribly and ported to a handheld so I can rpgmakk on the go.

for anyone who has hopes about being able to transfer their projects or games onto the DS version and work/play on them there, it's unlikely that this will support older formats (even though it uses the VX RTP.) the screen resolution and button scheme are different enough to be problematic in a lot of cases, to say nothing of the differences in how the PC and DS store and interpret data, and even if you could somehow shoehorn a VX or XP game onto a DS and play it there, it'd be a top-heavy and awkward child.

There is, unfortunately, nothing especially exciting about this. Probably as few customization (and distribution!) features as any other console RPG Maker game.

Now, if this were that hilariously awful handheld RPG Maker that they were considering bringing to the US that showed a monster sprite with the in-game subtitle "FEMALE GOD" in the demo images, that might be another story...

because fumbling with a tiny touchscreen keyboard and graphical editor in a moving vehicle or such is conducive to Progress and I'm sure you agree

I would never walk away from the PC versions, but it might be something fun to do when your in the car (NOT DRIVING!!!)

so far, it looks like there will be these:
-Original RTP
-New menus
-New system
-Wireless interaction = Trading games
-LOTS of RTP stuff.
-Bestiary
-New battle system - Characters on top, monsters on bottom
